A bye week feels almost like the off-season, so this seemed like a reasonable enough topic to discuss. The question for the board is under what circumstances could you see the following coaches win B1G COTY. Disclaimer: the following does not represent my own opinion on who the best coach is (Urban Meyer, duh), but rather my view of the "thinking" of the gang of dimwits who vote on this award each year.

Jim Harbaugh is the likely leader and will win if Michigan wins out regardless of what anyone else does. He will also likely win even with a loss to Ohio State if Ferentz and Dantonio each drop a game.

Kirk Ferentz will have to win out. Lose a game and he still might get the nod depending on whether Jimmy's gang implodes and the Buckeyes take care of Dantonio.

Mark Dantonio has to win them all. He's been close before, so he needs to take one more step. He also has to worry about getting Tresseled, shut out of the voting because of expectations.

Urban Meyer? There is literally nothing that Urban Meyer, or apparently any Buckeye coach, can do that will earn B1G COTY "honors."
