Ohio State OOC Away Record VS. SEC OOC Away

After reading how OSU schedules their OOC games it seems some outside users to this website felt the need to hijack it and defend the SEC OOC scheduling. Personally, I'm tired of hearing OSU doesn't play anyone. So, I took the time on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Atlanta to crunch the numbers of OSU OOC away and SEC OOC away from an SEC state from 1998-2014. *Note that Texas A&M and Mizzou joined the SEC in 2012. Any wins or losses to these schools when they were members of the Big 12 were counted if an SEC school won or lost to them prior to 2012.

Now to be fair to all, I DID NOT include OOC for the SEC where an ACC opponent was located in the Same state, such as South Carolina/Clemson, UGA/GT, UF/FSU/Miami etc. Nor did I include neutral site games because the SEC has gotten away from home and homes to stay at home in the south. If the game was played in a state where there wasn't an SEC school I counted it toward OOC away. I did this for OSU as well, as they played @UC in 2002. The numbers are exactly what I expected. After looking at the SEC OOC away, Vanderbilt took home the award for pulling more than what should be expected of a team in a conference who loves to tell the nation they're the best. Of 68 total games and 32 of those wins, they were responsible for 10 wins and 8 losses. LSU had the second best with a 4-1 record and the best winning % at .800. The SEC combined has a 32-36 record for OOC away and a .470 winning %. OSU has a 6-3 record and a .667 winning %. I think it's safe to say that this shows why the SEC doesn't like to travel. Albeit LSU, their OOC away schedule during the BCS and CFP is a joke.
