I had lunch with a retired fortune 500 CEO today. At one point of course (since it's Columbus), the meeting turned to OSU football and the QB competition. He said "Urban should completely shroud the pre-season in secrecy. No media, no visitors, no announcements, nothing. Keep the college football world and the country in the dark and let them see what happens at Virgina Tech."
That really made me think, and the more I thought about it, the more I recognized the genius of it. Sure EVERYONE (OSU community, media, football fans everywhere) would loose their minds. But wouldn't the team grow closer? Less distractions? Complete surprise come Sept 7th?
What if no-one knew who won any of the starting jobs (or any inside knowledge) except the team?
