Two-time B1G MVP

Braxton Miller, the two-time B1G MVP, needs 2,256 yards to pass Art Schlichter.

SMART MONEY?
Since 1981 Art Schichter has had a strangle hold on Ohio State's career passing yards record. I was hoping Bobby Hoying would break it, but he fell two games short. I'm not going to bet that Braxton Miller will take him down because Miller will need to throw for 2,256 passing yards this season to be the new leader. Of the three horses Ohio State currently has at quarterback, my money is on J.T. Barrett to finally replace Schlichter at the top of the podium.

Ohio State's Career Passing Yards Leaders
Rank Player Yards Years
1 ART SCHLICHTER 7,547 1978-1981
2 BOBBY HOYING 7,232 1992-1995
3 JOE GERMAINE 6,370 1996-1998

4 GREG FREY 6,316 1987-1990
5 STEVE BELLISARI 5,878 1998-2001
6 TROY SMITH 5,720 2003-2006
7 MIKE TOMCZAK 5,569 1981-1984

8 BRAXTON MILLER 5,292 2011-PRESENT
9 JIM KARSATOS 5,089 1984-1986
10 CRAIG KRENZEL 4,493 2000-2003

J.T. Barrett

J.T. Barrett is on pace to be Ohio State's career passing leader.

2014 Career Leaders
Braxton Miller...........5,292
J.T. Barrett................2,834
Cardale Jones...........863

ALL BETS ON BARRETT
It is safe to say that J.T. Barrett will probably see a dip in his numbers from last season. Not because Barrett is not good enough to replicate them, but because he probably won't have the same amount of snaps. However, if Barrett was able to produce the same numbers all four seasons he would complete his Ohio State career with 8,502 passing yards. Barrett only played in 12 games last season.

THE TOP 10 BY DECADE
1980s- Art Schlichter*, Mike Tomczak, Jim Karsatos, Greg Frey
1990s- Bobby Hoying and Joe Germaine
2000s- Steve Bellisari*, Criag Krenzel and Troy Smith
2010s- Braxton Miller

*Majority of years played in decade.

Cardale Jones

742 of Cardale Jones' 863 career passing yards came in the three most important games of his career.
