I was just wondering how a coaching staff determines whether a high school recruit is more suited for O-line or D-line. Baldwin switched from defense to offense and that worked out very well for us this year. Does it take a different skill set? For instance, do they judge how well someone explodes forward off the ball? Or how well they keep their balance while backing up? Or if a player has a higher motor? Take Feder for instance. Are they thinking he would be more suited for O Line, or could his height be a factor on the D-Line to knock down passes?
Its not a pressing question just something I was thinking about. There are a lot of good football minds on here. Any insight would be appreciated.
