Time Traveler here.

A tip of my time hat to all you Buckeye fans.

Two months ago in my own time, the ancient Ohio State Chronicles were uncovered in Old Columbus.  The finely chiseled crystal tablets told a tale of the great emotional roller coaster of a certain year in the second decade of the new millennium.

Your present.

It seems with all the drama, triumph, and tragedy at Ohio State this particular year, the entire world, including the worst of the haters, were watching the Buckeyes for the rest of the year.

Some drooled with anticipation of long ago "karma" coming home to roost, and some just wanted to see Ohio burn.

Some had jumped on the Buckeyes right out of the gate with the loss of Miller, and by the time of the humbling at the hands of the armless three sisters of the poor from Virginia, this team was gleefully and unceremoniously consigned to has-been hell, and as a result, the rest of everybody else licked their chops at a crack at the Buckeyes in a "down year".

And then the season happened.

Even Mark May had a few kind favorable un-assholish words.

Now with a Heisman candidate sidelined, and a mournful pall over the campus as a young man ends his life in such a sad way...

It should remind us that football Saturdays are no match for the fierce and sometimes tragic struggles of life.   For those that know what it is like to unexpectedly lose a loved one, a teammate, or a comrade in arms, you know it changes you.

But like it or not, the world will be watching with keenly peaked interest...and this football Saturday will reflect the maturity of a team that has survived and flourished through the harshest of climates (youth, inexperience, attrition, loss, and death).

But for three glorious hours, as Cardale Jones is plugged into an offense that gashes a thousand cuts into the Badger, and as the Buckeye defense finally steps up when it knows it must, viewers will get to witness history.

In the making.

And after the victory?

It will be impossible to leave such a story out of the first ever football playoff.

And so it is written.  And so it is.

But alas, I must bid A doo.  A doo.
