Old farts like me remember the Super Sophomore class of 1968 which consisted of the likes of Rex Kern, Jack Tatum, Jim Stillwagon, John Brockington, Mike Sensibaugh, Jan White, Bruce Jankowski, etc. Those first 3 are in the HoF.
And while we have some great sophomores this year (Elliott, Thomas, Elflein, Bosa, Bell, and Apple), that with a little luck may get a shot at a National Title, next years Sophomores may even be better.
We have Barrett, Samuel, Marshall (shaddup), Price, Lee, McMillan, and Apple all playing at a high level this year. And Jamarco Jones should start for Baldwin next year at RT, Lewis, Holmes, or Munger should progress into starts on the D-line, Worley or Booker will see some time at LB, and in spite of his bad start against MSU, Conley also contribute at CB.
That is a potential of at least 10 starting sophomores, the same as the 68 team. I know it will depend on what they do on the field, but what do you think, can they be mentioned in the same breath as the vaunted National Champions?
