I can specifically remember during the loss to MSU last season our wide receivers we're absolutely destroyed on the line of scrimmage by the MSU defensive backs. We we're all hoping for a big target to emerge that would create match up issues on the outside and make teams think twice about jamming our receivers. I think Michael Thomas has proved without a doubt that he is that guy. It seemed like every time they tried to jam him he would break through or make a move to get separation. Nothing was better than his pivot slant catch and breakaway to the end zone. It seemed like after that play MSU defensive backs started getting a lot more soft in coverage and that opened up the edges for Elliott to exploit. It's awesome to have such a dangerous threat on the outside again!
