I personally think this Ash/Fickell defense is flat average.  

The secondary is not good for one and we play base 4-3 when the other team is in 4WR packages...and we do it routinely.  

I've seen very little press coverage and the hitch routes and out routes are open all day!  This prevents our blitzes from "getting home" in many situations.  

Good QBs like Hackenberg and Keil have exposed it.  Even under pressure they can complete this hitch routes and out routes.

And none of the above addresses just how many WR screens they were able to complete with significant YAC production.
