Assembling the Greatest Buckeye Offensive Line

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but it's April, and there's a lot of time to kill until August. So I thought I throw this out there - if you could have your pick of any of the lineman in Buckeye history to field a unit what would that look like?

I know left and right side matter, but with this amount of quality, I am pretty sure these guys could handle either.

LT - Orlando Pace

RT - John Hicks

LG - Jim Parker

RG - Jim Lachey

C - LeCharles Bentley (No, seriously)

Just trying to start a conversation...

Hard to argue with that list - but I really want Korey Stringer in there somewhere.

Yeah, he'd be in the tackle rotation with Jim Marshall.

Shuberts. Just kidding!!

But he would be on the list if you counted all time false start penalties

Dave Foley and Rufus Mayes have to be in there somewhere.  I seem to recall having read that Woody thought Parker was the best he had and that Hicks was right behind him

Tom Deleone was an All American at center, so was Jeff Uhenlake.  Chris Ward was a pretty good tackle

No JB 'false start' Shugarts?

And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches!

Best way to do this is 1st team 2nd team or by decade. Just way to many good players.

Korey Stringer definitely belongs.

If Jim Bollman were to coach that unit they all would be mediocre at best...

It gets a bit "old timey" when you start researching the guards, but based on accolades, a 2nd team would probably look like this -

LT - Korey Stringer

RT- Dave Foley (Jim Marshall would best be served on DL, based on success as a pro)

LG - Warren Amling

RG - Rob Murphy

C - Nick Mangold

One name many people forget is Rufus Mayes. Played rt and is in the Buckeye hall of fame. He also had a nice long pro career.

Think of what Joe Bauserman could have done with this offensive line?
