PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Nebraska wins 27-24 on a hail mary... Bo Pelini is safe for another week. WOW
Can't find an online highlight yet, but I saw it on CBS post-game coverage. Northwestern can't catch a break.
Northwestern needs a hug.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Like they chant at the games, "that's alright, that's okay, they'll be our bosses one day."
That's a strange way to console oneself.
I legitimately feel bad for them. Poor guys.
As Gerry DiNardo pointed out on BTN, they should have had at least one or two guys in the end zone. Fundamentals. Fitz said after the game, "It's on me." Tough loss.
Reminds me of the Colorado win over TTUN, I think it was '94, Kordel Stewart...we were going nuts!
I'd probably be in a state of mind where I'd never want to watch football again if this is how my team lost its 5th straight game.
Class of 2010.
Makes me wonder what happened to the Northwestern fan that use to post here.
I feel for anyone who loses like this but it's part of the game and THE GAME WILL GO ON!
The feel good story of the B1G has turned into a tragedy.
Our Honor Defend!
And our SOS takes another hit. Damn.
That ship's sailed long ago. All we can do is win out and wait.
The postgame show is brought to you by... Christ, I can't find it. The hell with it...
"The Battle of the Helmets with an N on Them" goes to the High Plains. Northwestern goes from Top 20 team to battling to become Bowl eligible in a mere 5 game losing streak. I think they are better than their record, though. I feel bad for an SEC team that plays them in a Bowl, and doesn't bring their "A" game.
My favorite part is the NW player that just falls down after the catch.
That would be Chi Chi Ariguzo, a graduate of Columbus DeSales. He'd had a fantastic game up until that moment. Kind of understand how he felt.
What makes this even crazier is the play before the hail mary. Nebraska had 4th and 15 and needed to convert to stay alive. They completed a pass short of the sticks but the WR made a great effort to get the extra yards. Ended up converting the 4th down by about a a foot, and then the next play was this hail mary.
I was reaching for the remote after that third down play, so I could change channels, but I didn't get to it in time. Ended up seeing the whole thing! lol
Poor Northwestern they're not going to a bowl this year
Well, they have a bye then M...igan and Sparty at home before closing out at Illinois.
I see two wins in there, they finish 6-6.
"Success - it's what you do with what you got" - Woody Hayes
Their quarterback looks like he has been on the Jamarcus Russell diet
The Buckeyes broke NWs backbone. The carnage from that game is worse than a train accident.
That's true. They almost had the Buckeyes, would have been an historic upset, couldn't get it done. Hugely disappointing. But you could argue that Wisconsin did a lot of damage, they really laid wood on NU in Camp Randall the following week. Or you could argue that NU was down from losing to the Buckeyes.
In any case, where is the respect for Wisconsin in the polls? Oh, I forgot, to give them a higher ranking helps the Buckeyes...
45 - nicely done - when it rains it pours
If Pelini wasnt so worried about his job he mightve been able to enjoy that more. He hardly raised an eyebrow.

You are so right. Dude must have been pinching himself.
Fun story: I went apartment-hunting in Lincoln the weekend of the Nebraska spring game. When I got to the terminal in Chicago, my mom was talking to an older couple who were on our flight. They were on their way to Lincoln to watch their grandson, a freshman wide receiver for the Huskers, play. They were super-nice, congratulated me on my new job at UNL, and told me to look out for Jordan Westerkamp during football season.
We also met Westerkamp's mom when she came to airport to pick up her in-laws. He has a little brother, probably middle-school-aged, who hates football and was totally bored about the to-do their family was making over Jordan.
