PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
If the game is close no. If Miami made FSU there Clemson then I think they would.
"I'm not going to lie. We're anxious to be a part of a matchup like that. It's two states that love the game of football." -Jim Tressel
I CAN NOT believe that the refs called that play dead where the running back wasn't even tackled. He made it all to way back around the field and would have taken it to the house if the refs would not have made that call..
I don't know what the records of Wake Forest and UNC are, but would think Miami's struggles hold less clout than Ohio State's struggles.
"Success - it's what you do with what you got" - Woody Hayes
Next question: if FSU wins by 7 do we jump them?
No. OSU would need teams to lose to move up IMO. Our schedule has been bashed too much by the media and influenced to many of the voters.
What we can't do in the air we'll do on the ground.
Or.....Nevin Shapiro (pre-incarceration).
the byeweek is gonna kill us points wise in the voting. what can u do tho
I disagree. During the last bye week we moved up.
There are opportunities for others to falter, there is no opportunity for OSU to falter.
the bye week?.....I don't think we have any more bye weeks.
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
FSU should jump Bama. Bama played one top ten team, won by 7 after giving up 42 points. FSU has blown the doors off of two top ten teams.
Miami isn't really top ten material, and not sure if Clemson is/ was either.

I know what you're saying, but that's not how it appears to the voters, who unlike us, may not watch every game. All they see is FSU beating #3 and #7 teams - head to head against OSU, FSU wins and rightfully so. However, I will say that while I think FSU is a good team, I'm not scared of them. Whether we'd beat them or not would depend on how our defense plays against them. I think our offense would score 20-30 points on them. If we could stop their running game, I think we'd have a decent chance because I'm not sold on Winston being as good as he is being proclaimed. Regardless, FSU has a far better resume than OSU, actually FSU probably has the strongest resume at this moment - better than Oregon and Bama.
I hate that argument. I heard it from one of the talking heads right after the game. WTF is top ten material? We all play under this system of voting and computer algorithms. Why even have a system if you're just going to base it on the ol' eye test as Pawl said during GameDay. They were both in the top ten when they played them. Was NW top 15 material when we played them? Yeah, because the polls said so.
Winston seems incredibly arrogant.
A poor man's Johnny Football?
Two blondes were driving to Disneyland. The sign said: Disneyland Left... So they started crying and headed home.
He really doesn't seem arrogant. His teammates were acting like idiots on multiple plays and he told them to get it together.
At one point he pulled Jimbo off a kid and said, I got this coach and took over the ass chewing. I wanted to not like the kid too, he seems to have some Cam Newton fakeness in him, but I thought he showed great leadership last night.
I know what you mean. Before the Clemson game he was all jovial and lighthearted. After the Miami game he was pretty pompous. He seems to believe that his team is infallible, which is a deadly mistake. The confidence is great but what happens when they lose, especially on the fault of him.
I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.
I disagree. He seems fairly humble from the interviews I've seen.
He's also human, which apparently nobody believed. He has had a terrific year so far, but I would argue last night was the first actual defense he has faced with good athletes. I think our D Line would rush him to errant passes like Miami did. We would also score more than Miami did. That would be a good game, and could quite possibly be the title game.
What shows you that? I don't get that vibe from him at all watching him. He seems like a pretty mature kid.
Winston seems incredibly BLIND! I never would have believed a quarterback could be that bad of vision. It hurt to watch it. I'm not an eye doctor but can't that be fixed with surgery? For those of you that didn't watch game, I'm not kidding. He's got major eye issues. Heck of a player.
I was thinking the same thing. I watched the Pitt and Clemson games but never noticed his squinting. Does he always do that?
He has contacts but doesn't like to wear them during games
See this is the problem......voters gave too much credit to Miami for beating a bad florida team. It's not miamis fault but it showed just how wrong voters and the media were about florida this year. So they overhyped this matchup with a #7 team who really in the past few weeks has not played the part.
Fsu is a great team but now they are going to blow up the fact that they have beaten two top ten teams when in reality one probably was not worthy of the rank to begin with.
i think the voters wanted miami to be good again so bad they voted them up higher and faster than they deserved
if you are one of the last unbeatens in a bcs conference then you will be voted in the top ten...and you will go higher if there is room and you dont lose.
