I was thinking about years past and the frustration in coming out flat in big BCS bowls...and wondering if it was inherent to the long B1G layoff, coaching, not being battle tested throughout the year, or a combination of all.
Now that the B1G has a title game, our layoff wont be quite as long, which is a good thing. Also, I was thinking about the bowl prep under Meyer. We have yet to experience this. The only time I've paid attention to him in the post season was the 06 title games...which goes to serve both points here. I am very curious to see Meyer, the master motivatior & opportunist, pick apart our bowl oppenent for weeks while working on future plans. Earlier this year, I wasnt sure we were ready...but now I REALLY want to see Meyer and our staff prep for Bama/FSU/Oregon. I know PSU/Purdue arent world beaters but I am ready to see where we are at as a program, under the bright lights, outside of the B1G. I thought earlier this season that we needed another year under the current development system...but I think we're ready, the switch is flipping on. Its too bad this isnt the playoff year but I hope we get a shot a big time oppenent, regardless of what bowl its in.
