So after all the talk of stopping the service academy football games it looks like they will go on anyway. Good to see them playing, those kids work really hard in the classroom, on the field and they compete despite significant disadvantages.
Without getting political I think we can all agree, only the government could use logic like this:
The teams will be allowed to play because the games are paid for with non-appropriated funds, and have been long planned. Non-appropriated funds generally come from outside sources and are not approved through Congress.
But then also say this as if next week's games are somehow funded through a different source:
A senior defense official said Wednesday the decision affects this weekend's games only, and future games will be evaluated as events unfold.
