Projected Matchup: Alabama vs. Florida State
Top Three Other Options: 1) Oregon, 2) Ohio State, 3) MissouriWhy? Now it gets really fun. Of course there won't be a slew of unbeaten teams at the end of the year, but what if Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State are all in the discussion? The call is that Oregon, as good as it looks, will lose to either UCLA or Stanford along the way, and/or and unbeaten Florida State will finish higher up in the BCS standings.
The latest projections from CFN. What does this mean. Two of the three teams have to lose in order for us to squeeze in. Here are the remaining tough games:
Alabama: LSU, @Auburn, and SEC East champ (Mizzu)
Outlook: Auburn looks like the most likely to be able to pull an upset, being the iron bowl and all. Do we get in over a one loss SEC team. I think so. Most analysts said that last year we would have played ND had we been eligible.
Oregon: Stanford, @UCLA, Pac 12 South Champ (UCLA or ASU)
Outlook: Stanford is a tough matchup for them. We need an off night from Mariota and they also have Utah left on their schedule. To me this is the least likely team to survive without a loss.
FSU: Miami, @Florida, ACC Coastal Champ (Va Tech)
Outlook: None of these teams are considered elite, hopefully the hype machine for Winston will build up and he gets "Clowney'd".
Other note: If Mizzu wins out and beats Alabama, they would almost certainly jump us.
