PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Do we drop to 5th and Mizzou jumps to 4th? Does the SEC bias win in this situation? Lets also say that the SCAR vs. Mizzou game is close.
I would think that is very possible.
Unless Mizzou loses, they're probably going to jump Ohio State regardless.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Mizzou would have to win BIG. Even then I think we stay #4. People are slowly realizing that the SEC is Bama then everyone else.
Especially the SEC East is extremely average, yet they get points for beating up on each other because they ride on Alabama's coattail. Tennessee is still just as bad as they were when they lost to Oregon, but of course the story isn't that South Carolina is bad, it's that Tennessee is on an upswing. I'm actually glad to see Alabama wrecking the Vols right now.
Are you saying the evidence that SEC East teams "get points" is SCAR being ranked 21st? Fine, if you're upset SCAR is ranked ahead of Wisconsin and Michigan ... sorry I can't even care enough to finish that sentence.
Mizzou is undefeated and ranked behind OSU. Are you saying that the fact that Mizzou is ranked ahead of undefeated Miami, undefeated Baylor, and undefeated Texas Tech is evidence of ... something? I just don't see it.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
She needs to hit those squats though, looks like a pancake!
They jump to #2 due to ESPN calling for an all SEC BCS because the rest of the teams just aren't as good. I mean just think of the new commercial potential of fans chanting SEC SEC SEC for this monster game.
At what point do we start sounding like Michigan fans bitching that the only reason the Buckeyes have owned them for a decade is cheating?
Unless Ohio State looks bad, and I mean really bad, and Mizzou looks like FSU last week there's no way they jump us. SCar isn't that highly rated, have already lost twice and isn't their qb still hurt? If they lose they won't be ranked. So no beating what will be a 3 loss team doesn't jump the Bucks.
At least it better not, or else we're getting out the pitchforks and stuff and heading to the rooms that house those computers.

"Success - it's what you do with what you got" - Woody Hayes
I think the OP is talking about the BCS poll, but I can't be sure. I think getting jumped in the BCS is possible, as OSU will continue to suffer from the weak schedule in the computer rankings. However, I doubt Mizzou jumps OSU in either human poll. Undefeated teams jumping each other is extremely rare. Previously I'd said it just doesn't happen, but then FSU went and nuked the #3 team away at night. Fine, FSU basically took Clemson's spot. But SCAR is #21, not #3, and the game is at Mizzou. Many of us here bitch and moan about media bias, but by-and-large these things make sense. Mizzou jumping OSU wouldn't.
Now, because I don't expect Mizzou to jump OSU in the coaches poll, I don't expect them to make a huge BCS leap over OSU either. Will computers reward Mizzou enough to push them past OSU? Who knows - I don't even know what all each of those polls consider. But in the BCS OSU needs help anyway. I've come around to the belief that any unbeaten team from the SEC, PAC-12, and ACC will end up ahead of OSU. Each of those teams would have to have won matchups against top 10 teams. Previously I didn't think it was possible for an undefeated OSU team to be left out of the NCG, but this may be a perfect storm situation - those three conferences each will have had at least two teams in the top 10 at some point in the season, while the B1G is sad sad sad. If two teams are able to make it through two of those conferences unbeaten, it would be hard to argue OSU's resume over theirs.
This is why I find it hard to care about what happens with Mizzou this week. There will be, at most, one undefeated SEC team at the end of the season. Same for PAC-12 and ACC. It doesn't matter if in the SEC it's Mizzou or Bama, and it doesn't matter if in the ACC it's Miami or FSU. Unbeaten teams from those conferences will go to the NCG over OSU.
Neither happened. lol
