This last Saturday against Penn State, Devan Bogard tore the ACL in the same knee that ended his season a year ago. When I saw it was him laying on the field, my heart sunk. This young man has been through so much. He lost his older brother to cancer just before he arrived at Ohio State last year. He was the first player to ever have his black stripe removed under Urban Meyer at Ohio State. He's a Buckeye through and through. His and his late brother's dream was for Devan to play in the NFL. However, this latest setback will make that dream difficult. I feel terrible for Devan to the point that my stomach turns.
So I'm asking the loyal 11W community to show Devan that we still back him 100%, and to show encouragement to him during his recovery in the chance that he (or someone he knows) will see this. It's players and guys like Devan that make me love college football and Ohio State football as much as I do.
For those of you who want to know more about his story, check out the link from Bob Hunter at the Dispatch written last year.
I pray that Devan makes a full recovery, and that he doesn't give up on his dreams.
