Not much out there in the way of details, but here is some insight from the Honolulu Star-Advertiser:
An agreement has been reached for the University of Hawaii to play a road game against Ohio State in 2015, according to people familiar with the situation. UH, Ohio State and ESPN are expected to make a joint announcement tomorrow morning.
The game is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2015, in the campus stadium known as the "Horseshoe." It will be a busy month of travel for the Rainbow Warriors. They are scheduled to play Wisconsin on Sept. 26, 2015, in Madison, Wisc.
This will be the Rainbow Warriors' first visit to Columbus, Ohio. UH athletic director Ben Jay is a former Ohio State associate athletic director.
Ben Jay lectured a grad-school course I took a couple of summers back - he was Gene Smith's "money man," and seemed like he was one of the sharpest guys on campus. Not surprised he's getting his new gig and his old gig to make a potentially big out-of-conference game happen. I say big in the sense that it will be unique for both teams, and because OSU has such a huge alumni presence in the islands.
In 2015 OSU is scheduled to play Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, and to bring the upstart Northern Illinois Huskies to Columbus.
Unfortunately for Ohio State, the Warriors are winless this season, and finished an embarrassing 3-9 last year, despite having been only the third non-AQ team to play in a BCS bowl game; losing to Georgia 41–10 in the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2008 in New Orleans.
