PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
There's also no point in complaining about down votes. H8ers gon' h8 no matter what.
Have you ever considered trying the football sub-forum on reddit?
wait, you actually care that random people down vote you on an anonymous message board? I say this with the lightest of intentions but you seriously need to lighten up. Like seriously. I can't emphasize enough, the fact that you took the time to write this is way too much to devote to this subject.
That's a very good point, Jaggs.
Two blondes were driving to Disneyland. The sign said: Disneyland Left... So they started crying and headed home.
Gotta have thick skin around here. I found that out the hard way lol.
It's okay man, don't be discouraged. I got hammered once for suggesting that Beth Mowins is not absolutely awful, but my boys came through and ended up being like +14 and -10. It was a little irritating at first, but I got over it too. Like most massive fan bases, you are going to get a bunch of different kinds of fans.
I am sure you have more going on in your life than to worry about a few random opinions from some internet tough guys.
just another psycho, irrational, delusional Ohio St fan
If we didn't have a down vote button, 11W would quickly become like ESPN with a bunch of haters trolling our favorite Buckeye site and we just have to wait until they get booted.
Putting on the Mod Hat.....the good outweighs the bad here:
From coverage to content, from site management to day to day operations and from user interaction and involvement.
That last point is key, as 11W is a site by the people, of the people, for the people.
Between the declared rules of the road and the last go 'round regarding downvoting (of which both you may be familiar with), the observation of the golden rule also goes a long way when traversing to and fro within the Dub.
It's not always perfect, as here we are. But when we all can interact in a respectful manner things usually have a way of keeping warm and fuzzy. Not to mention we're blessed with the privilege of rooting for a fine state, university, athletic program, jazz virtuoso, etc.
I've worn my heart on my sleeve here a time or two, and have managed myself to pickup a dv or two that had me wanting blood...trolls be damned.
Then I realize it ain't worth it.
And as a commuter living in the Washington D.C. metro area that philosophy gets put to the test daily (I sometimes fail...horribly).
Stick with it, and it's all good in the long run. Feel free to contact me directly if I can help...see you out there.

Anyone wanna bet this guy is the guy who downvoted all of you...and probably me now. This helmet sticker/ up and down voting is ridiculous. I get the reason we began using it, but I had no idea how many people use it as some sort of measure of self worth. My advice....get over it.
Herbie......is that you?
Had to downvote this thread creation for the implied vulgarity.
OP, if down votes are the only thing you have to worry about, count yourself among the blessed.

i feel so bad that you got to go cali to watch the TOSU. having said that, anytime i notice a dv that is not legit i up vote. i have no idea who or when or why i get dv's. i don't care. its take away my time that i do have to spend on following the TOSU. the time you took to start this thread you could have participated in 5 discussions, gaining 5 up votes. just sayin
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
I suggested to the 11W staff when they started this upvote/downvote thingy, that they ONLY allow upvotes. Many online newspapers do this.
It kind of goes back to what mom always said: "If you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all." Downies included. They(DVs) create too much butthurt and retaliation. Too many people hide behing the DV and don't do it for the right reasons.
I was t looking for votes or sympathy just had an opinion I wanted to discuss. I awlinbuckeye...ya kind of proved my point but the sarchasim did make me smile.
I still think there should be a way to weed out the serial downvoters. It's not so much that I care, but it's frustrating to see every post in a thread with at least 1 downvote. It really defeats the purpose of the votes.
I can take or leave this up or down voting stuff. I could not even tell anyone right now what my helmet count is. Really dont care. If i have something to say , this voting system plays no part in my opinion giving.
@Dana: also be aware we have a phantom/ serial downvoter. Pretty sure you could post "Water is Wet" and that individual would downvote.
All week long, Meyer preached to his team that he wouldn't pity Buffalo (4--8 in 2012). "I didn't schedule this game," he insisted. "I'm not going to feel bad for them."
I feel the same way about senseless forum posts about downvotes.
Earle wins the thread! To be fair, I'm about to "bump" this thread, myself, but a few senseless DVs are smaller problem than having the "Active in the Forum" bar cluttered with non-substantive stuff.
This is the correct comment.
Insert witty remark
There should be a filter set that only allows an "x" amount of down votes per day for each individual user. Only 1 down vote allowed per thread and maybe 3-5 a day.

Shocker....6 down votes so far simply for my opinion. I should have expected it. Buckeyestu great point. I guess I'll just stop being a little bitch and realize it just is what it is. LOL
Yeah man, I don't want to pile on you, but complaining about downvotes is ASKING for more downvotes.
Way she goes boys, way she freakin' goes.
Yup, so many times I've wanted to bitch and moan about it but I knew what I would be attracting. I just go do something else instead!
"Brady Hoke rhymes with Gravy Boat." by incredibly brilliant bucksfan
Not sure which comment of yours you are specifically referring to in this post but if it's the one I think you're talking about in a Braxton related thread you probably got downvoted because you came off awfully snarky in your comment.
Scotch: It may be too early to drink it, yes; but people it is never to early to think about it.
Just quit taking the up-/down-vote thing with any degree of seriousness. I like the system, but I think if they would just eliminate the accumulation and tracking of 'points' by people it would work a lot better. Effectively change the concept from voting on a post to recommending or not recommending a post.
I think the MODs will need to shut this down! He is only going to get downvoted into oblivion for this. Might save him now.
In the future, try more tact and less bluntness! Unless you have the helmet stickers to survive it.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
