PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
This comes with a big FWIW, but cool anyways....
The sad thing is that we only play 3 other teams from the list and the highest one is 15. I really wish Wisconsin had won.
Very true. And Oregon and Bama are in the .9's for their score, we're at .78 or something. There's a big gap that could only get bigger. Still, I can't see either Bama or Oregon winning out. I see them both dropping one.
I think it's a good place to be in - where a worst case scenario really could be a Rose Bowl. Lots of football to play though.
I don't think an undefeated OSU team playing in the Rose Bowl would leave too many fans happy. With that being said I agree with you that I don't see both Oregon and Bama winning out.
I should clarify...I meant worst case for us this season is looking to be dropping one game and getting to the Rose Bowl. I'm fairly confident if we win out we will be in the title game.
Agreed, though - lots of upset fans, including myself, if we don't get in after going 13-0.
yeah i see bama dropping one to lsu or georgia in the championship game. are there any ranked teams on their schedule outside of aTm and lsu? i dont see anyone questioning their SOS thats strange right?
perfect scenario would be lsu losing to georgia and lsu beating alabama and then hopefully it wouldnt matter but then georgia beats alabama again in the CCG. Id love to see another OSU/Oregon showdown that would be exciting to watch
Ole Miss is ranked and climbing. They aren't world-beaters, but they are a solid team capable of beating anyone on the right day.

I agree with big FWIW...
Too bad Wiscy lost a heartbreaker and the rest of tB1G looked like crap besides OSU. I can see OSU having to remain unbeaten to see the #2 spot and A LOT of other circumstances falling into place. Meaning no one loss SEC team like in the past, and everyone else like Oregon, Clemson, FSU and others all have to lose at least once. That happens and the BCS formula won't mean anything...except of course strength of schedule. That one could be a problem unless the B1G gets much better and fast!
Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.
I think it is safe to say if any of Clemson, FSU, Oregon and Bama win out we are at home. I will say it's a long season, but both have relatively manageable schedules. Obviously freak losses can happen but there are very few legit chances for either to slip up. This weekend shut down one of the biggest remaining chances (TAMU)
Oregon Possible Slip Ups:
UCLA at home and in the CCG
Bama Possbile Slip Ups:
Ole Miss at Home
LSU at Home
CCG vs. Georgia
Clemson Possible Slip Ups:
Florida State at Home
At South Carolina
CCG vs Miami
FSU Possible Slip Ups:
Miami at home
LSU and Stanford could just as easily be included here. Good thing is Clemson/FSU, Bama/LSU, Oregon/Stanford will all put a loss on one of each other. Still though, I could see Oregon and Bama both making it through undefeated which would keep us out.
Agreed. Though I think LSU will lose at least 2. Their schedule is awful and I don't think they are "that" good. I think Stanford is beatable and will lose at least 1. It's still way to early to tell.
LSU Possible Slip Ups:
Auburn at home
Florida at home
At Ole Miss
Tamu at home
CCG vs Florida/UGA/SC
Stanford Possible Slip Ups:
AZSU at home
Washington at home
UCLA at home
Oregon at home
ND at home
CCG vs UCLA
Thanks for the laugh.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I agree Auburn is a stretch, but Ole Miss is solid.
That said, the Tigers could be just outside of the top-25 by the end of the year if they continue to improve this year. Gus has been impressive so far. Ole Miss will be a challenge even though Bama should win comfortably - they are a legit top-20/25 team.
Based on what? Beating a Texas team without Daje Johnson, and David Ash?
Don't forget that FSU and Clemson like losing to teams they should not lose to. Last year we had #3 FSU lose at NC State. It would not surprise me if #3 Clemson loses at NC State on Thursday becoming NC State's next #3 victim.
It's going to be tough sledding for Ohio State if Oregon or Bama doesn't lose. Strength of Schedule is being overstated, but it's the absolute truth as to why we could possibly not get chosen for the BCS Championship game. The B1G kinda blew it this weekend, including Meatchicken who barely scraped by Akron. Plus their win against Notre Dame looks less flashy considering Purdue hung right with them til the end. Wisconsin "should" have won the game. You never know if they could have blocked the field goal or whatever. Still that was BS! Anyways, I have faith TOSU can go undefeated. I just hope one of Bama or Oregon lose. If not our best shot may be to get a share of the AP Nat'l Title and a Rose Bowl. We will see. Still a long season to go.
“Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself.”
To put it in perspective ALL B1G teams ranked not named tOSU dropped in the rankings even if they didn't lose or didn't play. Think about that for a minute.
I can see Oregon losing to Stanford as well as UCLA
Wouldnt be surprised to see Cal put up a heck of a fight
If Ohio State goes undefeated and is on a then 25 game winning streak I cannot imagine a voter not putting them in the NCG. Especially if they keep playing the way they are right now and handily beat every B1G team by double digits. And if they don't get put into the NCG and go on to play Stanford/Oregon and win that will be one of the bigger asterisk on a title ever.
Assuming we are ranked #2 behind UA, we would only be 1 spot ahead of Oregon and the computers don't care about our 25 game winning streak.
While I understand it was just 1 game, clemson looked really, really good against UGA in week 1. Add in the fact UGA handled SCar the next week and the case of Clemson being a legit threat and running the table is real. I think Clemson, Bama, LSU and Oregon would all be ahead of OSU assuming they're all undefeated.
Or everyone mentioned could lose and the SEC champ could play Louisville in another slaughter fest....
I agree and FSU would as well. They close with UF. Would love to see UF and S. Carolina take down their ACC rivals in the last week.
I'll be at the UF/FSU game - I'll be cheering like crazy against FSU if they are undefeated.
Did anyone else notice that the Colley Matrix has Auburn as the #1 team in America?

Remember folks, rarely do you ever see more than one team go undefeated in a season. It doesn't matter how bad your schedule is, you always are going to have a game where you just aren't playing the way you should be. Take Purdue last year against us as an example. Oregon looks great but there is a reason why being 13-0 is described as such a hard task to accomplish. Its only week 3, so lets chill out and wait and see how this stuff shakes out.
I am really getting tired of Buckeye fans constant negative outlook on our NC prospects. My God............as my head beats against the wall!!! F the schedule. Just beat everyone in front of us and we are in. GEEEZ!!!
THE URBANATOR AND HIS BOYS' JOURNEY HAS JUST BEGUN; 26-0 IS COMING BABY!!
