This is the thread for signing up to chart the Cal game.
Hopefully everyone has already seen the result of the hard work of all the contributors for the Buffalo game! Thanks to everyone who helped out. Please read those blog posts and add in the comments anything you would like to see improved or changed in the presentation format, or any data fields you think we should be including.
Original Thread on charting is here:
We will break down the assignments by quarter, and by offense and defense. Please include notes as well on the special teams plays that end a given drive (so our kicking/punting falls under offense, theirs under defense).
The preferred due date for turning in charting data is the Wednesday following the game. Please try to observe this, or at least tell me if you'll be a little late.
You can call more than one assignment, but do this only if you are 100% sure you can finish it.
I have streamline and reorganized the charting spreadsheets after working on the buffalo game. Please make a new copy if you already volunteered once.
The template for offense is here:
The template for defense is here:
Please read the following guides before contributing to make our data collection more consistent:
Please look over them before the game and post any questions here. The notes section can be as detailed or basic as you want as long as it catches the key aspects of the play (if you look at an mgoblog UFR, that is the *high* end of what we would like.)
If a game goes to overtime... just look here after the game and volunteer to pick it up if you want to.
You can use the box score to fill in the first half of the spreadsheet. Here's the play by play from ESPN for the Cal game.
1Q Offense - NW Buckeye
1Q Defense - YRRO
2Q Offense - REDSTORM45
2Q Defense -
3Q Offense - MAESTRO
3Q Defense - DBUCKIMCG
4Q Offense - MAESTRO
4Q Defense - DBUCKIMCG
Awesome find by Ross Fulton! Urban Meyer's playbook from when he was at Utah. His base plays have not changed much.
