...Beanie Wells. Here's what I mean.
First of all, being compared to Beanie Wells overall is very high praise. But Beanie also seemed to have, dare I say it, either a low pain threshold or just a propensity to get nagging injuries. Maybe I'm the only one, but I have a recurring memory of Beanie Wells limping off the field after a running play while motioning to the sideline. He did this seemingly once per offensive possession. I know, I'm exaggerating a bit... My biggest memory of Beanie was when he hurt his toe against some patsy the week before the game at USC, and he just dropped the football for a fumble and started writhing in pain. I was sure he had blown out his knee or something. Nope, just a foot/toe injury that cost him a game or two (I get it -- I'm sure it truly was painful). What I'm saying is that he was a bit...dramatic.
I see a touch of this in Miller. I love the guy -- don't think I'm hating on him. But we've seen this an awful lot. I don't want to underestimate the pain that he has experienced in his various injuries, but a couple instances that stand out to me are the injury today where he was holding his head dramatically (so I assumed concussion), and the injury last year (Purdue?) where he was thrown to the grown hard and walked off the field like he was my grandpa. He was taken to the hospital, and the diagnosis was "Uh...he's fine".
I have never heard this comparison, so I'm just throwing it out there to see what you guys think. I love Miller and hope he's back and healthy next week, but my biggest fear about this season was that Braxton would miss a game and OSU would lose because of it. (Love Guiton too -- but he's not leading OSU through an undefeated season.)
