You may not like it when rivals win, but when the "powerhouse" teams of said program look horrible - a win against those team is less meaningful. As of right now, the Big 10 has had a few years of mediocre play against out of conference teams, and this could hurt the Buckeyes when it is all said and done. Who do people think of when they think of Big 10 football besides OSU - ttun, Penn State, Bielema's orphan, and corn holers, all of these teams (with the exeption of OSU's offense) looked bad yesterday. So when win all our conference games with some struggle with some of these lowly performing teams where does it put us - Behind any team with the same record in the Pac-12, ACC, Big 12. The SEC is different - they could have two more losses then OSU and they still would be ahead.
I know this is speculation (which 75% of what is on this site) and it is long a year, but if the improbable happens and there are three undefeated teams from major conferences - The OSU Buckeyes will be wishing the playoff system was in place this year. So even though I want crushing defeat to happen to the ttun - I want it to done by OSU - b/c it hurts them more and helps the Bucks too.
