PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Just found out via twitter that Boren was cut from the Texans.
I really like the kid and I hope he catches on somewhere, Best of luck to you Zach!
could get involved in coaching if playing doesnt work out.
I'd like to see him succeed but the simple truth is that not many teams need an FB.
Minnesota Vikings do for at least 3 games
If Jacksonville has a place for an "offensive weapon", then there has to be a team that is in need of a Weapon of Mass Destruction.
<Insert Pic of Boren Crushing Gardner>
Every time I see that pic I think of all the TTUN fans who said we only took Zack because we wanted his brother. LMAO
Wow that is how your embed images, just write the insert and it will do so.
The internet is an amazing place.
If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. ~ Bruce Lee
Browns could get rid of marecic and pick up Boren.
How Firm Thy Friendship....
Yea for sure. I had such high hopes for Marecic, very similar to Boren. I'll never forget watching that ND-stanford game with a co-worker of mine. Marecic scored on a goaline run, Stanford kicked off, first play Marecic gets a pick 6. hilarious.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
I was actually at that game when it happened!!
I've seen all my Browns friends urging us to sign him on the grounds that "he HAS to be better than Marecic," but the irony is that Marecic, in college, was basically a superior version of what Boren was for the Bucks.
The odds are really against him since he couldn't even make it past the first cut. His best shot is to latch on with a practice squad somewhere; from there, hope to get activated at some point; and then make himself invaluable on special teams. It's not impossible, but there aren't a lot of open jobs at his position, so just getting the chance will be a major uphill climb.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
Best case, he gets signed by a team that needs a fullback and plays for a few years. If that doesn't work, I wonder if he'd be open to working as a GA for Meyer. You'd have to assume that Meyer would let him on after last year.
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
maybe he should move to linebacker? he would be perfect for special teams. austin spitler is makin $700k playing special, believe he is going into his 4th year.700k is the league minimum for a 4th year player.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
He is easily one of my favorite Buckeyes for his selflessness. Nothing like doing whatever you need for the Team!!
I couldn't have said it better. Boren is easily one of my all-time favorite Buckeyes, too. I hope someone picks him up. Best wishes to Zach. Go Bucks
Tough, hard nosed, blue collared kid! Every team could use a player like boren. Really hoping he will land somewhere for the long term. One of my favorite bucks.
Hope he catches on somewhere. Great example of a team first player
He still has a shot at a practice squad; I would take that, as they still make about 7k a week. Or he could try for Canada.
Pokud si můžete přečíst to pak budete mít zlatou hvězdu na den!
I'd take 7k a week. Sheesh
That sucks!!!! He is all about team! He will get to play somewhere!!!
I hope he gets his chance somewhere soon. He is such a great kid and athlete. Good luck to him.
Bury me in my away jersey, with my buckeye blanket. A diehard who died young. Rip dad.
That pic will forever be in OSU-TTUN lore; definitely one for the ages. He will get picked up by someone and hopefully makes at least a practice squad this year.
Howard Island is also currently looking for a new zip code.
Hope that kid catches on somewhere...
If it doesn't work out hopefully he can come back to OSU and get into coaching.
Agreed. I think he would be a great addition..
He can always go to Montreal to play in the CFL, with Troy Smith and Duron Carter. Probably need to move to LB though; I don't think the CFL uses the FB very much.
It's doubtful Boren is going back to LB, even in the CFL or elsewhere. When you think about it, it's highly unlikely he ever would've moved back to FB if anyone in his camp thought he could make it as a LB. As it was said here earlier, teams just don't use typical FBs as much as they used to. There was more opportunity as a LB. So, if he decided to go pro as a FB you must deduce he doesn't have the chops to play LB on this level.
It's also unlikely he's going to make a practice squad unless a team plays in a power-running division that needs a FB to practice against on a regular basis.
Just born 20 years too late.
You mean "Just boren 20 years too late" ?
Travis Howard was released as well.
Sabino was released by the Giants as well. I hope he can catch on somewhere else. Looking at Sabino's OSU career gives me hope that Curtis Grant can finally deliver this year.
A bit surprised on Sabino. There was a lot of talk out of Giants camp early on that he was doing well. I don't remember of Coughlin mentioned him specifically or if it was just media speculation. It it was the latter, that's a surprising move.
