I make one wild (in other peoples eyes) prediction a year and usually get it right. This year's comes early; Th Toledo Rockets will blow up the football universe today and beat the Gators in the Swamp. You heard it here first, folks.
Yes, there is a good chance Florida overpowers them and wins by forty, but I'm still going out on that limb.
Florida has struggled with past MAC opponents (yes, I know the final scores didnt look like struggles, but I watched the games).
Basically for me it comes down to this: Florida's defense was fantastic last year, but their offense was a Bollman dream. Get up early on the Gators, ala Louisville and almost LA-Lafayette, and they're in trouble. Toledo is a high tempo potent offense that can certainly score. Florida's starting CB is suspended, along with one of their LBs, and they are replacing both safeties. That's a lot of secondary changes for the first game of the year against an up tempo team.
i see TToledo putting up some points, then getting shut down and holding on for dear life. One key play in the fourth against a tired game one secondary of new Gators pulls it off.
if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but Im putting it out there.
