PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Sweet run, atrocious tackling. Maybe they will only lose 4 games a year when he gets there.
This^^^ HAHAHAHAHA awesome!
Ewww, that run was filthy! Gotta give credit where it's due. I'm excited to see what this kid brings to the rivalry.
I honestly feel sorry for the rest of the B1G. The way these 2 teams are recruiting, it will literally be impossible for someone else to win the B1G championship, especially the teams in our new "East" division.
Don't sleep on Rutgers. They are getting some good players in this class.
Yeah but the Rutgers Athletic Department is a big turd and can't have nice things.
It is good for the league for Rutgers, Wisconsin, Nebraska and a few others continue to recruit well. It is great to be a Buckeye, but it is not very satisfying watching our team play out of conference cupcakes and then play the rest of the B1G cupcakes. The better the competition the more pleasure in winning. Urban will not be out recruited.
There is a HUGE problem with this statement. While recruiting classes are important, you have to have guys who can coach these recruits once they get there. Two teams doing amazing recruiting. Two coaches who couldn't be more different. One has rings, the other is one onion ring away from sweatpants. One looks intelligent, the other can't seem to figure out how to breath through his nose. One looks like a coach, the other looks like drunk Uncle Joe who hasn't showered in a couple of days.
A great example of this is that shithole, Auburn. Several top recruiting classes in a row, but with a fuckwit at the helm, and even dumber people as assistants, they went 3-8 last year. You can have all the 5 stars in the country, but if you have no idea how to coach them up, then those 5 stars might as well be unrecruited walk-ons.
OSU WILL pull away from the rest of the pack in the Big 10. It's inevitable. It started last year and I don't really see any signs to indicate it will stop any time soon. Enjoy it :)
OSU started pulling away from the pack when an unknown coach from Youngstown was hired, and except for a small blip 2 years ago they have never looked back.
"One onion ring away from sweatpants"...lol. I wish I could give 10 upvotes.
Brady Hoke is unproven so comparing Michigan to Auburn doesn't make sense. If Michigan ends up being terrible over the next 3-4 years, then yes, you can say those things, but for now, no. Looking at that recruiting classes Hoke has assembled, plus the coaching staff he has, there is reason to be very optimistic in Ann Arbor.
Not here to troll...Go Blue
Yep. I'll give Brady Hoke the benefit of the doubt that he's at least above mediocre until he proves otherwise, as much as I'd enjoy a repeat of the RichRod years. I also think he's a really good guy, not unlike Tressel in some ways, despite being an easy target to make fun of.
Besides, Urban needs Michigan to be good to have someone to compete with, since his system is based on having high levels of competition to get the best out of his players.
Does anyone think there's another B10 out there capable of playing the role that Alabama/LSU/Georgia did during Meyer's Florida years?
The Game was better in 2006 than 2008.....so it's good that tTUN is getting some studs to keep it interesting
thats pretty impressive
Oh if only he could've been a Buckeye...!
I usually avoid heaping praise on the enemy but they got a real stud in Peppers! Interested to see how his career pans out at UM; if his HS career is any indication of what we should expect to see during The Game in November (and throughout his 3 years in school) - he will be one of those players who has the ability to change the game as an individual. A true gamebreaker; he will start from Day 1 IMHO.
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
You have to like the effort. Terrible tackling, but nice spin moves and motor.
Awesome run, no doubt.
Not bad when you're a fast 210 lb high school kid.
Pokud si můžete přečíst to pak budete mít zlatou hvězdu na den!
Respect. Not to late to change your mind before Borges ruins your career. (I know he's a DB but Mattison is a good coach).
Toledo - Ohio's right armpit
"A troll by any other name is still a troll".
Bad tackling, but great effort by Peppers.
Great effort, great run....he needs to be careful about spinning too much though. If someone hits you at the wrong time kiss your knee ligaments goodbye. I gotta say, im still pretty bummed about missing out on this guy. He's gonna be good for sure, well, as sure as it gets any ways.
Disclaimer: I do not wish injuries on ANYONE....ever. Even scUM players.
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
That video is certainly impressive, but who knows the level of competition he's playing against there. Kid seems like a bit of a showboat, just judging by the way he announced his decision to go to UM with possibly the worst rap I've ever heard.
That being said, see how many of those runs he makes when he gets on the field in the Big10. I'm guessing that first little jaunt through the line, he gets planted by a LB, or a DL snatches him and falls on him. In this video, he does display some explosive speed and amazing acceleration, but again, who knows how bad this team he's playing against is. Tackling is definitely piss poor.
He's a corner and will be defense first. A kid that athletic will probably get some snaps on O, but he's D first.
who knows the level of competition he's playing against there.
who knows the level of competition he's playing against there.
Red Bank Catholic's preseason ranking is #10 for the state of NJ. For comparison, Pepper's team, Paramus Catholic, is ranked #1.
Nice run and effort. Although many of the tackle attempts were indeed bad, most running backs would have been stopped before crossing the goal line. Kudos to the young man.
Nice run but that was some of the worst defense ever. This kid has a shitty attitude and will end up being a cancer to their program...god willing.
Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust...but life goes on.
Can you expand on the Shitty attitude part...not really sure where you're getting that. This kid seems like a competitor and a fairly good student when I was following his recruiting. Has something changed?
Dude commits with a lame ass rap. Umm that maybe?! He seems to love him some Peppers. Good luck to him though im sure he'll have a great career.
Yeah...I...just...don't know where to start with this comment....
Jabrill Peppers is going to be a hell of a football player. Would have loved to see him in Scarlet & Gray. Meyer vs Hoke is shaping up to be an epic rivalry.
Ya because ohio state didnt just pick up 3-4 guys that can run lime that? Smh. Ohio st is chasing bama not scum.
Yeah - hate to say it, but that was pretty damn awesome. Let's hope that was partially due to bad HS tackling, but I suspect he'll be a very good player up there...
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
Yet Braxton's "Hail Mary" never made the top 10. :/
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Horrid tackling, nothing that special in the run that a 6th grade Biddy League RB could not have done with all those missed tackles.
After the scUM lose a few early games this year, most of those top recruits will start "exploring their options"
I don't think anyone is "expecting" Michigan to win all of their games. The "early" games they might lose is are ND and @PSU, but I like their chances. The recruits are a very tight-knit group; I'm not worried about any 2014 commits looking elsewhere.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
Great play. If that was an OSU recruit, I'd be ecstatic. The Game will be fun the next few years.
*WARNING - DOWNVOTES INCOMING*
Was Fickel coaching that defense?
Our Honor Defend!
Peppers is a stud for sure.
It was a good run and all, but I'm not knocking the kid at all when I say that was some horrific defense. It's like they were made of rubber and he just bounced off of each of them when they got close to him.
I noticed a number of comments downplaying this run due to poor tackling. What I would like to ask is this.
How many of those missed tackles are due to the defender's lack of talent or skill and how many of those are due to the RB's field vision, burst, change of direction, subtle cuts, stiff arms, and spin moves? I invite you to find a slow motion replay of this play. It isn't often a RB breaks 9 tackles on a single carry at any level. Sure, some of that probably has to do with the fact that Peppers is a 215 lb RB that runs a 4.3 forty. At the High school level that definitely will make him hard to tackle, but do you hold his size and speed against him? Especially when he has worked extremely hard in the gym and on the track to gain those advantages?
I won't argue that he isn't a man amongst boys in high school. He in fact is, but it took a lot of hard work and effort on his part to make it that way.
Yeah you can't even see that stiff arm until it's zoomed in and slowed down. Pretty impressive!
Can't wait to watch him battle Lonnie, Terry, and Parris for years to come.
I think this was done during a scrimmage? Maybe thats the reason I see guys trailing the play with little to no urgency. I know Hookers awesome interception return for a TD was done during a live scrimmage. If this was actually a real game I apologize and their coach should be fired immediately.
A wise man once said "success is not final and failure is not fatal"
nothing against Jabrill, I know he will be an awesome player, but I see guys like Samuels and Dontre not even getting touched on their runs mostly. It was quite the feat getting to that endzone and I have always said it is a skill to know how to score a TD when you need to, but his amazing athleticism helped him out a bunch on that play. If he were going to be a true offensive weapon, he would have found better angles and gotten away from the scrum as opposed to breaking the tackles. That is probably why he will be a defender, which will definitely fit his skill set more.
again, not saying Jabrill doesn't deserve any kudos for that, just that I get more amazed when a guy can do something like that with barely getting touched.
and frankly, I have no idea how he is ranked on ESPN at #2 and Curtis Samuels is NOT ranked! Blows my mind how stupid ESPN is with their rankings.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
