First let me disclose that I am not implying that this story absolutely happened and I am seriously not trying to troll Bama or Saban just to do it. I heard this from a friend who likes to keep apprised (spelling?) of these types of stories. I am sincerely interested to see if anyone else has heard of this.
For those who don't know, Cyrus Kouandjio originally put the Auburn hat on on NSD in 2011. Shortly after, and I mean minutes, it was reported that he was having second thoughts and never faxed in his commitment. He then switched to Bama and the rest is history. The rumor I heard is in regards to that few-minute interim.
Cyrus' brother, Arie, had signed with Bama the year before. Apparently, right after Cyrus put on the hat, he got a call from Coach Saban and he was told that if he didn't switch to Bama, Arie would lose his scholarship. Cyrus then switched to Bama, apparently hiding behind the "change of heart" explanation.
I know this sounds crazy and it might be complete horse apple, but if anyone else ever heard this story it might make me feel less stupid for entertaining it as a possibility.
If no one has heard of it then 1) I'm an idiot, 2) I apologize to BamaMike, 3) disregard the story, and 4) go Bucks!
