PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
While I am usually skeptical about ESPN I really don't see much wrong with the list. If it was first second and third string listed and no bucks that would be different but you can't expect OSU to have the top guy at every position
Don't think your getting a downvote for what wasn't a bad post at all was fair, but that said, Max Bullough over Ryan Shazier is madness haha. Shazier had better statistics than Bullough in every category last year. I'm really struggling to think of one area in which Bullough is a better LB than Shazier, and really can't think of one.
Every other spot I agree with you on, though. Even Roby. Is Roby better than Ekpre-Olamu and Verrett? Personally I think so, but I can understand where others may not. More fuel for the fire, though.
I would completely agree with you on that one. No way Bullough is better than RDS. However, I don't know if I would say RDS is a top 3 linebacker in the nation. Definitely in the conversation and if he plays like he did at the end of last year then he will be a top 5 guy for sure.
I agree, but not even one? And I still don't see it with Mariotta (sp)

Damn... See what I mean CincyOSU? Almost every other blog or site has Shazier and Roby on their first team. Not ESPN.
TTUN fans would rather talk tOSU failures in the past ten years than their own successes. Probably because they haven't had a lot of success.
CincyOSU is unavailable for comment. He's watching SportsCenter for the 17th time today.
GUYS, please, ESPN is so fair and balanced.
"They don't know what they don't know." - Coach Mick
Ohiowhite and OSUASU - Maybe you need to work on your reading comprehension. Please show me ANYWHERE that I have said how good ESPN is. I challenge you. I take issue not with people knocking ESPN, but for how stupid it makes our fanbase look to think they are "out to get us".
Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean ESPN isn't out to get me!
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
May I direct your attention to the sarcasm font? lol. By the way, I didn't downvote you, but just a heads up!
Its sad how right you are, yet how ridiculed you are. Our fan base would be so much better off without the "media is out to get us" diatribe.

Deadly - You're so right. This just proves it. No more debate is needed. I mean, ESPN didn't put two players on their preseason All American team(Oh the humanity!). That MUST mean they are anti OSU. I mean the evidence is just too clear. It's not like they think our freshman(three of them) are really good or anything.
But way to be a grown up and call me out by name. I love internet tough guys!
Terrible sarcasm is terrible. Is that really all you got? I just gave an example... You are blabbering about how that is wrong but still not giving your own example.
You gave an example of nothing. They didn't include someone one on their preseason team, while a few other outlets did? What does that prove other than that you are overly sensitive to anything ESPN says about OSU. You need a different hobby.
And why not take a look at the opinions of other fans about this issue(Roby and Shazier). Most of the comments here have no real problem with them being excluded. But, like clockwork, someone from the ESPN hates us crew(YOU) had to get their panties in a wad and make a comment.
And for the record, I wouldn't have said anything had I not been called out by name.
Check out any other pre-season AA team almost all of them have Roby and Shazier on them. I don't just hate ESPN, I have made four or five comments about them then I just respond to yours it's not a "hobby". In fact, you have the hobby of defending ESPN. I have never called you out by name before. Last time I made a comment about ESPN you responded without me calling you out.
Hey at least their freshman AA team featured 3 Buckeyes.. Marshall, Wilson and Trey Johnson.
And they haven't even heard of Cameron Johnston yet.....

I see you, and I love it! After all, Shane Falco was a buckeye...
So was Johnny Utah.

So do you think Keannu was a fan, or was his role in the replacements a tip of the cap to the fans of Point Break?
That is one big dude. Johnstons life flashed before my eyes when I saw that picture.
Really excited about Carter this year. Looks like he carries 341# pretty well.
All Hype selections.
"Ha Ha Clinton-Dix" sounds like a bad political joke. I think his name should be censored every time it's mentioned.
He's on the Lewinsky All-American Team.
That my friend, is pure comedic genius.
Weird posted in wrong thread carry on.
Things that don't concern me:
1. Movies starring the Rock
2. Salads at McDonald's
3. The TLC lineup
4. Preseason All-American teams
Would you rank the Preseason All-American team right up there with the September Heisman?
In the grand Venn Diagram scheme of things, there would be tremendous overlap.
Is scUM #1?
For those guys upset that Shazier was not selected 1st team, is this not maybe a question of whether the inexperienced d line will be able to keep blockers off of him? I remember Katzenmoyers second year after the vrabel, finkes, fickell line graduated. He struggled to shed blockers. I am not saying this is going to happen this year to Shazier. But if this was the rationale used by the analysts for this list, it is very understandable.
I would say about 90% percent of all american teams I have seen include Shazier and Roby. Not having Shazier who put up stats very close to Teo last year is laughable. Also Roby had the most pass defended at the CB position last year though leaving him off due to his possible missing a couple games is fine. Leaving Shazier of is Bias.
1st team All America Offense
QB Braxton Miller
RBs Carlos Hyde, Rod Smith
TE Nick Vannett
WRs Philly Brown, Devin Smith
see where I'm going
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
Shazier is great. But I don't think you can put him on the all American list based on one great half of a season.
But Roby I've seen everywhere as one of the best CBs in the nation. Unless they were thinking he might be suspended multiple games.
One great half of a season? I have to disagree. Compare his stats with the Heisman runner up:
With that said these lists don't really mean anything.
This list is pretty crap. If anything, this could serve as more bulletin board material for Roby and Shazier...ESPN continues to provide horrible college football analysis.
How could Roby be named an All-American at the end of last year by ESPN and then not be selected as one going into next season?
