Just finished up watching the All-Access show on Mississippi State and all I could think of was how similarly Dan Mullen and his staff ran things compared to Urban at tOSU. Every player was talking about bringing the "juice" and the one-on-one hit drills with the team circled around them looked eerily familiar. Even Mullen's mannerisms reminded me of coach Meyer. Is this flattering imitation or straight copying?
I was wondering if anyone else noticed this or if anyone knows what kind of relationship the two have had after he left the OC position at Florida to take this job in '09. Did either Mullen or Meyer come up with both/one/none of the motivational tools like the term "juice" or the one-on-one drill? One difference I noticed was the team prayer at the end and breaking the huddle by thanking God. I know we aren't supposed to talk about religion on here, but whatever your preference, I'm glad Urban doesn't force this on his team. Okay for players to take this upon themselves, but this appeared to be a mandatory part of practice. Could be wrong though.
EDIT: I knew he was the OC under Urban at UF, but I forgot that he had followed him there from Utah and BG. Probably hard to differentiate who started which traditions.
