PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Does anyone have an update? Last I saw he still hasnt signed with anyone. What is the deal?
Last I saw he was in talks with the Jags but there are concerns over his knee, which seems to be in bad shape.
This sucks because I've always been a big Chris Wells fan.
What is the deal?
The deal is the guy is soft. Wells never played as tough as a guy his size should've.
That is BS. He was able to get good yardage running through a Walrus line, which we all know about the mystical blocking schemes that do not work.
Being soft has nothing to do with it. You can't control things like knee or ankle injuries.
Come on, are you serious?

I think we should take it easy on this comment.
Be it known, I don't agree that Beanie is soft. I think this comment outlines the fact that we, the fans, don't get sports injury pain.
Here's my point. I have been guilty from time to time complaining to myself that so-and-so won't play because of a ankle, wrist, sore knee etc.
I have bursitis in a hip. Holy crap that hurts. If I saw a player was sitting/out because of bursitis, I'd be playing the wimp card. Now that I've felt it...
I had an MRI on my head. Holy crap, what an uncomfortable, unnerving hour of my life that was. And if you move, you have to start over.
I've also got plantar fasciitis. Same as above. That shit hurts, and when it flares up, I flat out don't want to walk.
In general, I have an auto-immune condition that causes chronic pain. Some days, you just don't get used to it. That has given me the perspective that when an athlete has pain and won't play, it's not because he/she is a pansy. Sometimes you just can't rub dirt on it.
We do need to be careful when evaluating a player like Scarlet_Buckeye did. I fully believe that when Beanie was out after the YSU game, he was likely in some pretty hellatious pain.
Man up and do 5 miles of jumping jacks.
Seriously though, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. Seeing as I'm nearing 60 some of my old injuries have come back to revisit so I know something of what you are talking about.
Not so sure I agree with that....let me show you exhibit A below.
This is only my opinion, but if our ever so intelligent OC at the time would have told Tress to run him more to the opposite side of the Dline slant (like on the second play), OSU wouldn't have looked so silly trying to throw and run to the strong side, like we did the ENTIRE rest of that game. Beanie was great at bouncing it to the outside like on play one. The long run was even against a run blitz with a dline slant on backside....good ole Wallrus and Dave days.
Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.
Yep, still unsigned. I have been watching this all summer. I guess his time in Arizona really ruined his knee. Hopefully he didn't give all of his fortune to his large family.
My dad and half brother waited in line to get his autograph on an OSU jersey while he was in Pheonix (apparently they were the only ones toting one), and as soon as he saw it they said he got excited and exclaimed, "That's the REAL jersey right there!."
IMO most likely he will be signed after week 1. That way the team has zero risk, he will be playing for weekly paycheck.
BINGO. No team wants to be on the hook for the full salary.
This. He's too talented not to get signed somewhere. And teams know he is often an upgrade over many of their current backs when healthy.
