First of all, I've only posted a few times on this website, although I am avid reader of literally everything on this website (Thanks 11W!). That being said, I wanted to share a bit of how I feel on the recent arrest records of some of the members of the Ohio State Football program.
After recently scrolling through comments left with the Roby and Hyde story I feel dismayed on how some of our fans are willing to drop Ohio State football, or atleast make the threat to, based on a few of this year's players actions. What a slap to the face of to the tradition and history of such a great football program. I have resided in the state of Montana my entire life (28 years), and have no plans of moving out due to my interest in the outdoors (it would literally kill me to miss hunting and fishing:), but one thing I cannot and will not miss is Ohio State Football games in the fall. Every fall I tune into the game on Saturday's to find myself with a nostalgic feeling of the first time I turned on the tv to find Eddie George, realizing I live half way across the country..I know I probably don't have as much entitlement to the team, but that doesn't stop me from being known as the "Buckeye" fan in my town haha. I'll be damned if a few decisions will ever allow me to consider dropping a team based on the actions of a few, there are too many athletes that have fulfilled expectations and future young men who will fulfill my children's obligation to be Buckeye fans.
I honestly am feeling a bit pissed with Roby and Hyde, but their actions are in no way in any of our control including Urban Meyer, the coaching staff, or their teammates. I hope the negativity surrounding the event, can be improved within our 11w community and fan base in general. I guarantee the Buckeye faithful stretch far and wide across this planet, and my hopes are that as much as the University has dealt with in the past few years (Off the field issues), they can always count on and rely on a passionate fan base that sticks behind the Silver Bullets.
