PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
I would love to see Carlos eclipse the 1,000 yard barrier. He deserves it.
He will get that easy this year. I'm expecting 30-40 per game just in mop up.
I agree that the potential is there, I'm just skeptical as to how many touches he will get with so many weapons surrounding him on offense. I know he will make the most of the touches he gets though.
This offense will be faster, but it is still predicated on the power run.
Enter, El Guapo.
I just remember him pummeling AACC to wind down last year's contest. He's behind another solid line, so if this pass game comes to the table (and it should) I see him cleaning up.

Yep - common ideology is use the run to establish the pass game. But, in our case, defenses will doubt our passing game and focus on Hyde and Braxton etc. If Braxton can become even slightly dangerous in the passing game, it will open up our run game and Hyde will inevitably be breaking some good runs as we spread the field out.
I agree....the pass game (receivers) have to prove themselves with consistency this year. I think they do, just a combination of experience all around, work ethic and talent.
Jordan Hall and the young guys coming in should really bolster the effectiveness as well.
Ideally I hope to see an offense that can get on the board early and often via the pass, with runs by Brax/El Guapo/Rod Smith to keep defenses honest and off balance.
The potential for some real offensive nastiness is there...pick your poison.
after seeing our run game dismantle nebraska last year, I have even higher hopes for our rushing attack this year because of the players' experience in the system, the coaches settling in, and new recruits tearing it up. I can't remember a time in which we had so many weapons on offense in the run game. In a couple of years, our rushing game will be scary good with the influx of speed and meyer's o-line recruits.

Hope El Guapo has a monster season!! Is 2,000 yds. asking for much?? lol
I really like Hyde. I hope he has at least 1200 yds. I would love to see him get 100+ every game. He is a great kid. A great player. He deserves to tare it up. Beast mode style!
Bury me in my away jersey, with my buckeye blanket. A diehard who died young. Rip dad.
Beyond beast mode. Proven vet feed this man the ball, talking 20 plus carries a game.
I think the only issue is that we will have a lot more weapons this year. The one thing that will help him is that we will play at least one more game and if he stays healthy he'll have 4-5 more games.
If Rod Smith gets 15-19 carries a game, he can run for 1,000 yards.
Won't happen, but it could.
I'm just happy to be here
I think hyde will be at least an 1,100 guy this year on tge ground. There were numerous tines he was one juke or broken tackle from housing it. His speed is underrated. With him really focuses on that in the off season i believe he will master that one more move in the open field to spring him free
He got 97 yards per game in ten games last year, if he can come close to that this year 1200 will definitely be in reach.
Bet you can't say "Bert Bielma is a bumbling buffoon" five times fast.
9 route good find. Not to ruffle feathers but Hyde may not have sniffed 600 yards if Jordan hall stayed healthy. In hindsight it's easy to see hydes a great back and I'm super excited for him this year, especially since he knows his buckeye history. With all the speed Marotti's been raving about I still hope Carlos gets his touches and gets even more touchdowns (he had near 20 last year!). And obviously north of 1k
