On OSU recruiting: The Buckeyes are standing at 14 commits for 2014 and likely will have a class around 20-22. This means space is limited. OSU will definitely take at least five lineman and already have three committed. They will also reserve a space for Raekwon McMillan, Marshon Lattimore, and Curtis Samuel. Adding up the math, this would leave only one to two spots available.
On Timeframe: Ozone - When would you like to make your final decision?
Hilliman - Before the season starts.
On Ohio State visit: Ozone - Did you come close to committing on your visit?
Hilliman - I was really close but I needed to refrain and hear what other schools have to offer.
On current status: Ozone - What are some other schools you are considering?
Hilliman - Rutgers, Michigan, Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Miami but Ohio State is my leader for now and I am also most comfortable with their coaching staff.
Sounds like the Buckeyes are in really good shape to land Hilliman. We are in really good shape for McMillan and Samuel as well. Lattimore seems to be less open in interviews, but assuming we land those 3, Hilliman, and two OL's out of Knox/Prince/Mavety/Eluemunor/Bookser etc., that would leave us with maybe one more spot available which I think would go to a TE or Erick Smith, especially if he is a package w/ Lattimore. I expect we will get two OL and all or all but one of those named before Smith, leaving us with possibly one spot remaining. This could go to Smith, Austin Roberts or Mike Gesicki, but you also never know with this coaching staff.
