There is an easy way to tell if a sports writer is doing their job. In every story that has come out since the Aaron Hernandez regarding Tebow as a tight end, the good ones will note that we don't know if Tebow can catch, block, or run routes. It is assumed that he can since these are "football skills", however he hasn't really done so in any meaningful way in his college and pro career.
Jake Ballard on the other hand has quietly earned a starting spot after missing last year with a knee injury. With the quality of receivers on the team (sorry Michael Jenkins), he is likely the one to assume a large role in the patriots offense. Ballard however is not the greatest college football player of his era with a national (creepy?) following that improves ratings whenever he is mentioned. He is a reason that I may have to watch some patriots games this year, even with the pretty boy from TTUN throwing him passes.
