"Alabama also had to eat 2,003 unsold tickets, which resulted in a loss of $751,380."
LMAO - Can you imagine OSU not selling their allotment to a NC game? Maybe this is a sign of impending doom for college football. I mean if they had to eat 2003 tickets for a NC game, what would have happened if they had just been in a BCS bowl? Or, perhaps the price of $375 per ticket is stretching things a bit toooooo far. Still, pretty unbelievable that a mighty SEC team had to eat over 2000 tickets.
I see your point and would love to put our fanbase to the test, but Bama asking their fans to attend three NCGs in four years is both a pleasure and a financial burden, primarily for the reason of those $375 tix. Remember, too, that these fans probably shell out some cash for the SEC championship game. Not making excuses for them and I think your implied notion about trouble selling tix for a NCG that's about to become a National Championship Tournament is maybe the bigger issue here.
I wonder what those tickets tasted like.
Slather enough BBQ sauce on 'em and they're a mighty tasty sideline snack. Who am I kidding, they taste great without the sauce!
That's how you impress the yungun's to kum play fer ewe.GO BUCKS
I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
