PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Seems about right for the most part. I don't think A&M is that good but they are in the SEC and have a relatively easy schedule (only playing Alabama and LSU and no tough out of conference games). Louisville might have the easiest schedule I have ever seen for a top 5 team. Their most difficult games are maybe Ohio and Cincinnati. You can never trust Oregon or Clemson to go undefeated. To me it is OSU v. SEC winner in the championship game and if OSU loses at some point in time the Louisville by default.
Have you looked at our schedule? The B1G championship not withstanding it's the worst schedule I've ever seen for tOSU.
I'm not saying our schedule is that difficult but we will be playing Wisconsin and Michigan (two top 25 teams) and Penn State and Cal who may not be too bad. Louisville's schedule: Ohio, EKU, Kentucky, Florida International, Temple, Rutgers, UCF, USF, UConn, Houston, Memphis and Cincinnati.
I would have liked to see Northwestern higher I think they deserve a top 25 spot
Wherever you are, there you be!
IMO Northwestern should be in the top 25
A&M and USC ranked too high
Stanford should be ranked higher
Louisville is severely overrated based on a very good QB and a very average top to bottom roster.
The amount of disrespect they show Chip Kelly amazes me.
Louisville should not be higher than 12.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I wanted to upvote and downvote the same post. I agree with the Chip Kelly statement but Louisville is nasty when TB is playing. That plus a soft schedule will keep them in the top 10.
Heard this same thing about West Virginia and Geno Smith last season.
Texas and USC and 18 and 19? How the mighty have fallen, still overrated.
I wouldn't put any SEC teams in the top ten...thats just me though

Stanford outside the top ten surprises me. Not saying they're a top ten program, but I thought for sure that the hype they had would be enough to put them at least at 10. I know at one point ESPN had them at #2.
I don't always downvote, but I do always downvote a Michigan fan trolling the Buckeye boards.
Agreed. I know this is a preseason poll, but I don't think it would be a stretch to say that Stanford will be in the top 10 when the season is over.
tOSU versus Florida for the 2013 National Championship. You heard it here first folks.
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
Here we go again. How does GA keep getting these high preseason rankings? Do they have talent and just not perform? Well see is they stick with their familiar routine of losing two-three key games hindering from them getting over the top.
I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.
I have always thought Georgia was a pretty good team. Last year they lost to South Carolina and barely lost to Alabama in the SEC Championship game (came down to final drive). They then beat Nebraska by 14 in the bowl game. Overall not a bad season IMO.
"...It's Michigan; it'll get the benefit of the rankings doubt."
Sure, until ND beats them week two.
The postgame show is brought to you by... Christ, I can't find it. The hell with it...
1 in the top 5.
2 in the top 10.
4 in the top 25.
8 in the top 50.
MIA: Illinois, Indiana, Maryland (That still seems weird), Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue
(Sigh) Another down year for the BIG....the ONLY thing that will save us is if the Buckeyes demoralize an SEC champion in the NCG. But even then, our conference mates will probably get their asses kicked in bowl games again.
Who's gonna step it up?
In all seriousness I don't see SCUM doing it, Mattison will keep them in games, but their offense will struggle the next few years....their pro-style back up just got injured which means Morris will have to come in and contribute almost immediately.....which is bad for the program because, let's face it, he's a project guys similar to Braxton. The saving grace for Braxton is his freakish athletic ability.
Sparty? I think if Dantonio has two seasons of 9-4 seasons he'd still be on the hot seat...which is unfortunate because I really do think he's a stellar coach. They just don't rake in the talent he needs.
Wisconsin? They've been on the verge for a few seasons under Bert...interested to see how they do under new managament.
Nebraska? I'd love to say yes, but they're several years out assuming Bo doesnt either move on or get fired. (I think Bo is another great coach in the making...good, but not yet great).
Rutgers? If they get an elite coach, watch out. Lots of talent from the Garden State.
Indiana? If anyone's going to step up and beat OSU and kick ass in the NCG its IU...as laughable as that might be....we need teams like IU step it up. IU has been the doormat of the B1G for years and they deserve everything they get moving forward if they're successful. If there's another team in the B1G I REALLY want to see do well it's IU (except when they play the Buckeyes of course and not in B-Ball....screw Crean).
Iowa? Please....even if they beat us, they're so inconsistent its embarrassing.
So what team is going to step it up and help the Buckeyes bring the B1G back to grace in the football world?
The good thing, as we have seen with the SEC, you really only need two really good teams. For the SEC it was Florida/LSU for a while and now Alabama/LSU that have been really good and won championships. If OSU can get back to that level (and win) and Michigan can win some Rose Bowl games the BIG will hopefully be considered elite again.
I have to agree with you on MSU. I believe Dantonio is a good coach but it has to be turribly tough to recruit there. In state you have TTUN and just down one state you have TOSU whcih most of the top talent is going to go to. So unless a recruit is independent to picking a side in the best rivalry in all of sports, MSU is left in the dust. And try selling MSU to recruits outside the state. Just look at Saban there compared to him at bama.
If NW's jack-of-all-trades star Kain Colter stays healthy, they could be a top 15-20 team by season's end.
