Urban throws shot at Carter and S.Miller
I was listening to todays presser live and was shocked by what Urban said in regards to Carter and S. Miller. To summarize he asked how many years had they been there and how many years could someone redshirt. That was after he said Spence and Adolphus were running with the 1's. I definitely felt it was a direct message to get it in gear or get out.
This isn't grammar school.

To me this was classic Urban that we saw a lot last year with the WRs. He knows he is going to need a deep rotation on the front line and is going to use some pressure to keep pushing these two in order for them to get better.
He called out Miller needing to step up .... The redshirt comment was directed solely at Carter .... Read the 11W summary of the presser on the front page
Urban said early on in his first year that he would make it easy for players to leave the team.
I'm glad he's calling players out. They need to use it as motivation. I'd love to see both of them work hard and get into the rotation

I wonder if Steve Miller hates that band, just because that's got to be a joke he's heard before. Maybe get Marriotti to play it non stop during D-line drills? Give them some motivation.

Agreed. I saw him play a few games while in high school and remember thinking that I thought he would be a beast once he got to college. It's disappointing to this point, for sure, but Sabino was a player that took some time to get moving. Maybe he'll start figuring it out here soon. Unfortunately this regime doesn't have the patience, or even this coddling aspect, that the last one did, so who knows what'll happen with it. Again, hopefully he figures it out though...
Just another example of having all the talent and potential in the world doesn't guarantee success. Out work your competition and you guarantee respect and put yourself in a position for success. Main reason I love it when 3 star guys make the nfl.

I'm not sure Urban would say anything if he didn't expect big things from these two. Masterful motivation.
Don't see what the big deal is. It's kind of funny, if you listen to the whole thing in context. It's a big of insight to how he's motivating these guys, and they've been here awhile so he wants them playing, not handing out water. At least get on the depth chart. Time to make your mark here. That was all, not an issue for me.
