...much to my dismay. I think this was bound to happen but some part of me held out hope that he would just disappear in retirement. The worst part is that he will probably actually be good at it.

Any time he shows up on my TV he will receive an obligatory mute at the very least. If not a channel change.

Ya, I worry he's going to be exactly what everyone thinks he's going to be. Players on the Ravens have come out and said half the time they had no idea what he was saying when he'd get all RayRay on people....I assume it'll be the same in the booth. A guy like Spielman applies a football player's perspective with some passion but does a good job of being professional in the booth. I'm not sold Lewis will be anything more than loud and annoying.

Love the dude as a player but I'm more upset he just won't go away.

4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off

Remember his words (such as they were) for the family of the stabbing victim during his interview before the Super Bowl? Does not seem like a bright or articulate guy at all, but I'm sure ESPN doesn't care about that.

If they were smart, they'd just put him on a show with Berman and let the two of them go back and forth spouting inane catchphrases- I'm sure it'd be a big hit.

You can mark this down as the least shocking news of the offseason. The network swooning over Ray on his farewell tour last year was legendary. He was definitely going to get a shot as a TV personality. After the newness wears off, he'll have to be good or go home, but we'll all have to endure until then.

I cannot stand Ray and his whole "I'm blessed and god wanted me to keep playing these last couple years ..."....yes god really cares about your football career, but he doesn't care, or is hands-off when it comes to small kids getting killed in school massacres and babies being born with Aids in Africa. He really has delusions of grandeur.
