First time in years that the Browns are going to be active in free agency. Love to hear your thoughts on were some of the FA will land. I would love to see Beanie in Cleveland.

I would love to see Beanie in a Bengals uniform...
Beanie would be great here in Cincinnati, but last year paying Benjarvis I know it wont happen.
He can't stay healthy, the browns cannot pay someone who plays 8 games a year. They have Trent who is on a completely different level than Beanie. Bengals fans go for it.
"You'll be proud of our young people in the classroom, in the community, and most especially in 310 days in Ann Arbor, Michigan on the football field."
Well, by this time tomorrow the Browns will have significantly overpaid for a pass rusher- Avril or Kruger.
The postgame show is brought to you by... Christ, I can't find it. The hell with it...
They may overpay or they may get a pretty good deal both players are just entering their primes so there could be some improvement on their already good performances or they could crash and burn just don't be so hasty. I for one am glad there spending at all.
i like kruger
Bengals wont make any huge signings, though if they lure Dashon Goldson that would be significant for them. I keep hearing they're trying to free cap space so they can re-sign Geno Atkins and Andre Smith. To me that would take precedent over any free agent signing.
Browns need some nastiness on their DL. Avril would provide that. Kruger is a LB isn't he?

Kruger is an OLB, but he would be one of the Browns primary pass rushers if he signed. The Browns are switching to an attacking variant of the 3-4 under new Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton.
Too bad Chris Gamble retired. He would look real good in brown and orange!
I'm really hoping the browns can get ellerbe, Wallace or jennings and I have heard they may go after dumervil if Denver doesn't re-sign him. But then again it's cleveland so I'm not getting my hopes up since it seems every free agency that I'm let down!
I wouldn't expect anything too wild from the Browns. Joe Banner doesn't appear to be in the business of handing out tons of JH3's cash. They'll find a starter or two and a depth guy or two, but I don't expect Ellerbe, Jennings, or a top level guy.
One thing I like about the new regime is it appears to have a clear idea of how they value players. I don't foresee an extreme overpay for an aging player.
Yet they have to spend money or extend some guys to reach the salary floor and free agency is very competitive . . . I'd look for more like Jared Cook, Keenan Lewis type guy.
Biggest need for browns has to come on defensive side of the ball. Would love to see them sign a OLB, FS, and CB and then draft a pass rusher. Man the FS spot has been ridiculously bad the last few years.
I also like the rumor of Ryan Mallet. I think bringing him in to compete with Weeden is a good plan.
I think the D isn't that far off. I know there is a scheme change, but the pieces you mentioned could solidify this as a top 5 D.
Sorta funny about the O, it needs fewer pieces. Weeden being a bit more consistent and continues emergence of Josh Gordon coupled with how well Little played in the 2nd half of the season, and the Browns could have a decent offense.
Looks like Pitt and Balt will be loosing quite a few people. Is it time for the Ohio teams to stand atop the division?
Preparation H & H are gone and Lerner can do his soccer thing... so building through the draft philosophy is gone. I feel some of the 47 million in cap space will be spent. I look for defensive acquisitions at DE / LB and another solid CB across from Haden. Possible offensive players, for the right price, TE, right guard and WR. So many names have be linked with the Browns; with new management, anything is possible!
Gamble would have looked DAMN GOOD in brown and orange!
Reports out of Baltimore says Kruger closing in on Browns

Could ease the pain of transitioning into a 3-4.
That is the single biggest thing that has bothered me this offseason. I think the Browns finally have a really good young DT rotation and they switch to a a 3-4. I wonder how that affects a guy like Sheard?
Yeah it's obvious Sheard is best suited as a 4-3 pass rusher. Tough to see him transitioning to a stand up 3-4 OLB without some issues, likely in coverage. Kruger is good in coverage, and rushing the passer.
Wayne Woodrow Hayes
i was thinking just this. Sheard i believe from what i saw was a decent asset to us and somewhat of a disturbance on the line. Really hope this is able to translate over to the new scheme.

When last years "big splash" was signing Frostee Rucker, I'm very much looking forward to this years free agency period and seeing what my Browns do.
Yeah they've been quiet in FA for a long time. I think ol' Frostee played pretty well for us though. I think this team has built a nice core through the draft for a while and now its time to pull the trigger on a few guys.
This is what we've been waiting for, I guess - the Browns' old FO was building through the draft, and stockpiling cashola. Well, with them required to spend so much this year, may as well jump in with both feet. Just be smart about it.
My wish list for FA is Kruger,DB Keenan Lewis, and Jared Cook or Brandon Meyers at TE. Extend Mack, Haden and maybe Ward. Draft Dion Jordan if he is there, if not maybe take a chance on Jarvis Jones or trade down. I think the new FO will be shrewd and calculating in it's contracts as well, don't expect huge signing bonuses. Those who will say the Browns "overpaid" for Kruger probably won't know the structure of the contract or how Joe Banner does business.
Wayne Woodrow Hayes
Agree. Banner is known for his salary cap prowess. I doubt he will get the Browns into many contracts that will completely kill the cap.
anyone know on the restrictions on when we can boot "running in quicksand" Sheldon Brown and "What the fu*k am i doing in the NFL?" Buster Skrine?
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
Brown is a FA and won't be resigned. Skrine improved leaps and bounds last year. He still has potential, was a 7th round pick, makes nothing and adds some depth.
Skrine was a 5th round pick and after the debacle in Dallas, he lost all confidence and proved he's nothing more than a 4th/5th CB
Bengals interested in Reggie Bush?
Would be a nice change of pace.
Paul Kruger agrees in principle to deal with Browns approx 5 years 40 million
They've added Quentin Groves (Cardinals) and Desmond Bryant (Raiders), too.

That multi-front front 7 looks pretty good on paper.
Loving what the browns have done so far in free agency. Got so used to them signing past their prime veterans. Love the kruger signing, very optimistic about the bryant signing, and like bringing in groves. Not sure im too keen on the TE they brought in...but then again, don't know much about him. Guess I was hoping they would take a shot at myers or fred davis. Chud knows this guy though, so I'm guessing he helped facilitate this move. Still hope there's an upgrade at the guard and wr position. And some secondary help...but there's plenty of time and available players to address at least one of those needs. And still hoping they can work something out with the ryan mallett situation...love the potential and arm he brings with him.
just have to hope that Kruger was/is not a one year wonder

What was that story recently about an NFL player coming out...
Hmmm....
I'm just happy to be here
There's a chance those are out of context. Seems like smoke though.
i don't want to jump to conclusions either but......you can't really take those out of context
The pics were taken with a really high-quality digital camera, I'll say that
I'm just happy to be here
