Does anyone know if Luke Fickell was offered the Pittsburgh head coaching job or was just given an interview? I believe had he been offered the job he would have taken it.

My recollection is that he was not, in fact, offered the position.
Thanks
I think he interviewed just to keep his name on the radar of up and coming candidates. Obviously has a good opportunity to beef up the resume under UFM.....work in progress.

Fire Fickell.....
Sarcasm font?
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
yep lol
Totally. I heard Fickell usually orders veggie pizza with no meat on it. What kind of American is he? I wouldn't want someone like that around my kid.
I so Agree....Who the hell does that. lol
He then demanded that the delivery boy be fired for questioning his meatless choice.
Lol.

One has to really wonder if in fact fickell even has any real inkling to leave Ohio State? Think about it. Tressell obviously had enough faith in him to keep things afloat when he names him the interim head coach when it was believed he was only going to be gone 5 games. He's had his baptism by fire in 2011...and tOSU is not a friendly place for HC's that aren't winning games. I personally don't see him leaving any time soon..if ever. He learned a lot from tress. And he's learning more from urban. His name will be mentioned when jobs come open, and well it should. Just don't see him leaving anytime soon, if ever.
I only disagree because I believe he wants to be our HC again someday. He now knows he will need to lead a smaller program to get that opportunity.
Edit: you're talking about Pitt not the Steelers. nevermind.
So if Fick takes the Pitt job might that cause Mark May to have a meltdown because a Buckeye leads his beloved crappy Panthers?

I never thought about that but what I would do to see a Mark May forced to root for a buckeye! ^^upvote
May wouldn't root for Fickell. May would openly blame each of Pitt's losses on the coaching staff, and give credit for each of Pitt's wins to the players, in spite of the coaching staff's efforts.
