I saw this on theozone.net by Brandon Castel:
"Wood will suit up for the Buckeyes this spring as he attempts to make another comeback from shoulder surgery. We had been hearing for a while he was going to give it another try, but the news was confirmed by an Ohio State spokesperson on Monday."
Question: Does this put us at 83 then?
I wonder if the staff knew about this leading up to NSD.

He was an Army All-American, would be interesting to see him healthy. Although I do not know rather he has been counted in the 82
I don't know if the staff knew about this or not leading up to NSD but its obvious they couldn't wait on a decision by Jamie one way or the other, not with the defensive backfield being a particular point of need and especially with Safety being a most glaring need going forward. Good Luck to him!!!
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
What year will he be in for the upcoming season?
He will be a senior this year...
I hope this kid makes it and plays some
Jaime Wood will in fact make 83. He is likely competing for his spot to make it in the final 82 scholarship players. Good luck to the local boy and go bucks :D
Go8uck5!
As much as UFM likes to tout players that come in will be ready to play before the first game, somebody will redshirt or (I hate to say it) take a medical redshirt for the year.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
That doesn't change the scholarship situation in the slightest.
Redshirts still count for scholarships. Grey shirts don't.
Hope Woods gets better and is able to play. You can find the link for the story from the O-zone here.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
Thanks. He will be a senior.
We'll find a way to get to 82. This kid deserves a chance but at the same time, somebody has to go which is terrible. One more year of this bs reduction crap.
I just want to see him get on the field... Good luck to the kid.
I'm glad he's getting a shot and I hope that he takes full advantage of it. After all, you can never have too many upperclassmen in your two deep. Why do I feel like he'd already be off the team if he were playing for say Alabama?
I believe Pittman leaving would put us at 82. If wood doesn't work out I'd like to see a guy like Houston get the scholarship for a year after turning down a full ride to another school
