So true. That's the only reason why he's still there. According to BlackHeartGoldPants, "The buyout clause in Kirk Ferentz's contract mandates that Gary Barta pay him 75% of his base salary if he is terminated without cause. That works out to $18,846,249 as of this week, or $219,142 per month until the contract ends in January 2020."

Smh.....guess this makes the Kirkster the Federal Government of FBS coaches. Tenure, top dollar and now perks for family members, all for less than stellar results.

I don't mind things like this, one could easily find a reason to fire him if things go south because of it by breaching some clause in the contract.

I guess I forgot Iowa is a destination job for top tier coaches.  

The main perk is not having to go to beautiful sunny Florida to recruit.
