Wow I guess he's always going to be the guy that wants what the other guy ordered.
Gunner you could be the QB that leads Indiana from obscurity. Ok.
Gunner Les is on the Phone you could be the one that keeps the SEC National Championship streak going. Ok
Gunner Brian is on the phone he says you could be the QB that brings ND it's first title 20+ years. Ok
Hey Gunner the majority of successful NLF QB'S played at non traditional powers ie Delaware, Miami OH, Nevada, Maryland, Eastern Illinois, TCU, Baylor etc. Ok someone get Ball state on the phone.
Next he will drop out so he can be the underdog that had to fight his way into the NLF.

If he lands at anyone of these mentioned schools they are getting the bargain of a lifetime. He may have some issues with commitment but this kid has an incredible arm and all the tools to be a good one.
Would be the most highly recruited player to ever play at Miami (including Ben).
UC has had a few highly recruited players transfer in the past few years (Hazelton, etc), but Kiel might be the highest rated QB to play at UC since Greg Cook.
I'd love for him to end up at either of these programs.
I'm sure Wilson would have lived to have him originally but he doesn't really fit the system anymore. Not sure it's worth it for him to sit out a year there.
I just want to know what happened to honoring your commitments and your word being your bond. How are you going to lead a football team when you can't even decide what team you're going to play for?
Here's where places like Rivals and Scout go wrong. By all accounts, this kid was supposed to be one of the next great QB's....so he makes a rash decision to stay home at the in state school, then falls for SEC school dejour before taking a spot at ND with the idea that he'll be their savior-then a lightly recruited sophmore takes them to the national title game and all of a sudden things don't work out? Kids like this drive me nuts. You haven't played a snap of meaningfull football and yet your recruitment sends waves throughout the country and your departure is supposed to do the same?
Mr. Kiel, meet Obscurity. Obscurity, meet Mr. Kiel.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Clearly he is looking for a school where there is no competition for the starting spot. Which is why he will never make it past the college game. The best QBs thrive off of that. Then again, it is hard to really blame a kid that has been told he is the best thing walking since he was 8 years old. Enough people tell you you're amazing and untouchable you believe it. Then a little adversity comes along the way and it become hard to deal with it.
I think Maryland would be a solid fit. Any team that plays a Linebacker at QB could use some help with depth. I'm not sure if C.J. Brown got his medical RS, but he was a RS SO going into this season, so in theory Gunner would have a shot a playing for a couple years. He appears to be afraid of competition so I'm not sure it matters where he ends up.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
SHOCKER!!!
I was gonna make a joke about him winding up on the same team as Anzalone and then I was like wait a minute they were!

Arkansas here he comes!!
O the irony from the prime time to the MAC. Surprised Indiana was not on that list since that was one of 5 schools he had previously committed to.

For all the off field hoo rah rah for this kid and his (in)decisions, why do I have the feeling he's not going to pan out no matter where he lands?

Because you just read where he plans on playing. I'd be shocked if Coach Wilson at IU doesn't make a run at him.

Hell, Les Miles should pick up the phone again.....

This kid is very indecisive; hope he gets it together.

It might not be a bad idea to sit out a year and transfer where he can start right away, like Indiana or Cleveland?

He should have stuck with his IU commitment.

this does not shock me at all.
Upvote for showing Bollman's walrus brother
Class of 2010.
Well, Ball State is an upgrade to Indiana so there you have it...
Oh come on they are on the same level.

Does he end up in the B1G?

Did he ever have a shot at the starting job at ND? Never heard him mentioned. Another big name, highly touted player that doesn't pan out?
