Pretty dumb to schedule UGA/Clemson and TCU/LSU an hour apart.
was thinkin the same thing
SEC flavor is an understatement. The SEC is in EVERY game.
Gotta get over the SEC love from ESPN. Until someone wins a national title that ISN'T in the SEC, we aren't going to see anything different.
I don't blame them, I was just pointing it out. I'd do the same thing.
I am over it - I now watch fewer SEC games than I used to watch 5 or 10 years ago.
SEC or not, these are fantastic matchups and they'd be fools to not air them.
I hope Vandy whoops on Ole Miss.... Boy do I hope....

Nice early conundrum for us...do we root for Clemson, due to hatred for the SEC, or do we go UGA, as a strong Clemson season next year could be a big plus for them in the many recruiting battles we are fighting?

This is why esecpn has all of the sec games on, and the love for the sec. It's all about the money$$

No kidding???
i dont have a schedule handy, but what are some of the big ten match ups that weekend?
i wish OSU could have been matched up in one of those season-opening kick off games (e.g., Cowboy classic). The Bucks could have used a shot to their schedule strength.
Why is Thurs, Oct 24th listed?

Yea I was confused by that too. Its also MSST vs. Kentucky. Not like its a big game that they want people to mark in their calendars for the future.
Vandy I'm glad you ran and found a much more favorable opponent for your schedule opening week. God forbid if an SEC team gets stomped down on national television
Well lets pick them and see if anyone sees any major upsets.
Give me sc, bama, vandy, Georgia, lsu, miss st.
Vandy will most likely be the only dog on this list.

I'll be at that UGA - Clemson game. Is it possible for both teams to lose?!?
Yes. They play a physical game that results in a number of injures for both teams resulting in losing seasons. Watson decides he doesn't want to play for a losing team and multiple prospects in Georgia decide OSU beats their crappy home state school. I would consider that a loss for both. Again Georgia wins the battle both lose the war.

I hate the SEC as much as anyone, but several of these matchups look great on paper..... and I want to watch them.
Although 'Bama will destroy Tech.
The SEC pushed for this 'opening weekend' action years ago. This year's schedule is just the result of their continued efforts to place their brand front and center starting in week one. You have to give them credit for putting league games in the spotlight while the B1G eases into league play with a steady dose of MAction before getting to the league matchups. Even better, most of the non-league matchups are in favorable locations (Dallas, Atlanta). I would love to see the mutual interest in Bama playing Michigan at Ford Field or OSU playing Florida at Soldier Field during week one (would prefer they play up here in the winter, but that isn't going to happen).
The SEC has taken a 'Daytona 500' approach by starting off with a bang. I especially like the Thursday night games. OSU played Marshall a few years ago on Thursday night and while many season ticket holders complained (and it was a pain to get to the game on time), by the time the game started, it was pretty freaking cool.
Please no Beth Mowins this year.
