So after how great the turnout has been for the B1G bball tournament so far in Chicago, this has to help their chances to landing the football championship game in the future. What do people think? Is the outdoor/crappy grass too much to overcome?

I think the problem with the football game the last 2 years has been the product. I'll be lining up for a ticket that has Ohio State on it.
Was the turnout bad in Indy? When I went two years ago, the tournament was nearly sold out, and I thought Conseco Fieldhouse (it will always be called that in my mind) did a great job. There were also numerous options around for both eating and lodging.
I think Chicago is better for the basketball because it is a multi-day event. The football game is a one day game so you don't need as many extra event to do in the city for the fans. Plus the turnout in Indy has been down because of the team's fanbase. Basketball has 12 teams with 12 alumni bases to come out for the games/events.
