Joe Paterno did no wrong. He couldn't have because his wife and attorney just officially said so in their response to the Freeh report... This breaking news along with the assurance from Mrs. Sandusky that her husband did nothing wrong as well has to mean this whole big mess was just a big misunderstanding...just a big bunch of misunderstood "horse play".
Great to see these wives understand that it's all about their husbands and not the kids/victims.

I heard his son on Mike and Mike this morning...I hate to say this but we need to let it go. As many may or may not know....I'm a father and when a situation involves child abuse or in this case molestation...I refrain from saying anything. It goes without saying how I feel....the Paterno family won't stop trying to clear Joe's name. They will always say they/Joe didn't know, and no one knew really...I say WHAT EVER! They all knew and it was proven in 1998 as well as 2001 and NO ONE DID ANYTHING and let kids get molested by the man who created the foundation to do his thing...be a child predator. Just sick and we, as a great community of OSU Buckeyes need to move on and forget it...bc we can't do anything about it now besides be aware and don't leave your children with anyone you don't know for sure if you trust. That is all...

Who cares, Paterno already got off easy. He should have to live to see his legacy crumble, were there any justice in the world.
Would have liked to have seen him have to go through a fair trial, too. Don't forget, JoePa lawyered up the week the Sandusky news broke. He knew what was coming. Looking through his grand jury statements and statements he made in interviews, things he said and claimed just didn't add up.
There were inconsistencies in his testimony before the Freeh Report was even concieved, that's enough of a red flag right there
The whole "Lets not ruin someone's weekend" excuse pretty much summed up his guilt.
The guy that really makes my blood boil still is Jay Paterno. It's safe to assume, that a lot of these PSU lifer assistants - Jay Pa, Tom Bradley, Larry Johnson Sr. had to have known something that was going on with Sandusky. How could they not? Yet, they did nothing.
After the whole Joe Pa firing fall-out in late 2011, I didn't hear one word of sympathy towards the victims from that arrogant Jay Paterno. And I was waiting. Jay had numerous chances. But, not one word. Yes, I know Jay did not rape the kids, but, he very well aided & abetted Sandusky via Joe. Cowardly inaction. But, Jay - at least look like you're concerned about the true victims in the whole tragedy. Instead, all we heard was some stupid post-game emotional speeches about how "...we're gonna go to Indianapolis and put a Post-It note on that trophy with Joe's name if we have to...". It was still all about the Paterno legacy to Joe back at that time. It still is now, and it probably always will be. Jay also said today that Joe "Told his superiors", and that was enough and Joe wasn't neglectful. Wow. Unbelievable. Joe was his superior in State College. I'm telling you - that guy ran things like a dictator for decades up there. He was bigger than his AD, Pres, etc.. I guess Jay thinks Joe doing the absolute cowardly bare minimum clears Joe's name.

+ 1000 !!! ^
"Jay Paterno was one of the best assistant coaches in America the past decade."
- absolutely nobody
The whole thing stinks! They waited until Joe broke the record for most wins, even after all of people already testified in court... It was strung out on purpose to protect Joe. They barely mention the kids affected, compared to the lengths they go to protect his name.
If only they could have done the same for the kids that truely needed the help...
I don't think it's wrong for the Paterno family to make a last ditch effort to stick up for their husband and father. It only makes sense for them to do so. Certainly most if not all of us would want to defend our family member when we believe they have been falsely accused of something or mis-characterized. So, I expected the Paterno Report to be exactly what it was.
But here's the thing, the Paterno family cannot expect everyone else to actually believe what they do about JoePa. There is nothing they can do to persuade those of us who are fully convinced that JoePa was involved of anything otherwise.
We can let it go all we want, but this is not going to go away. There is a lot of pending litigation to take place. We will continue hearing much more about all of this.
I was watching Cowherd during lunch and Jay Paterno made his way over there. As much hot air that Cowherd can spew out of his mouth just to manufacture a dividing line on any given issue, he actually was very upfront and blunt with Jay. This new Paterno report has always been a way to make Joe seem like a good guy who couldn't do wrong and even going to great lengths to say that Joe never heard of it because it was against the law in PA to divulge any information given the nature of the investigation. It's that sort of spin on things that PSU people and Joe Pa supporters are clinging to. Cowherd called him on it though. Asked him, given how he knew of everything going on with the program, how did he not know that his DC was being investigated? Things get leaked all the time, even when it's illegal to leak them. I'm not going to do a synopsis of the entire conversation, but you can listen to it here. I at least commend Cowherd for not being a patsy and actually not buying into it because ESPN invited him to come talk on various programs throughout the day. He definitely wasn't buying what Jay was selling and it's nice to that happen instead of just laying down and being passive about it all.
tears Joe shed for his precious reputation taking a hit = countless
tears Joe shed for the poor kids he allowed to get raped = zero
Joe's legacy was cemented in my mind the day I watched him scurry through his own punt formation at the Shoe looking for the nearest place to change his underwear. Nothing about the Sandusky debacle will change the fact that I see that image whenever someone mentions his name.
It all needs to just go away.....what good does it do to continually rehash it? We all know who was at fault here and we all know who stuck their heads in the sand and let bad things happen. Why do any of us want to argue with a group of folks we know we aren't going to win with? Just make sure you know who you leave your kid with as BUCKEYE76BHOP said........
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
agreed, "Kate"...or you could say:
State College, PA:
Kids getting raped on campus = No one says a word;
A child rapist enabling coach is fired & the football team hit with sanctions = all Hell breaks loose.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Doesn't shock me at all. You mean the report comissioned by the Paterno family didn't agree with the report that put some of the blame on Joe? Nooooo. Did you know Coffee was hot too?
Whatever. This will be treated as 'the fair and unbiased truth' about Paterno in the eyes of Penn State fans. This is somehow supposed to undo everything else we already know? Ok. Look its clear Penn State fans don't want to admit their beloved Joe was something other than they thought. Its obvious the NCAA failed in changing the culture in Penn State-honoring the 8-4 2012 PSU team in the stadium Ring of Honor is a real class act, assholes.
I just can't get over the sheer disgust I have for this group of people.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
The more they fight, the worse they look...
It's like I said above, they can fight and defend JoePa all they want, but they cannot expect anyone to believe what they do about JoePa.
It is strange, how Joe got that record-breaking (at the time) 409th win, THEN the whole Sandusky story breaks nationally. This doesn't get a lot of attention. It seems as if the media was complicit in the timing of this. Too coincidental.

I think Mrs. Paterno's house should be taken in a civil suit.
Glad to see that her husband's full of sh*t me me me sense of entitlement has rubbed off on her.
Why on earth are people commiserating with her??
She is a social predator and should be shunned
Yes. And how is Dottie walking free? I just can't comprehend that she didn't know what Jerry was doing with young boys in the basement, and that she didn't hear any sounds. She's dumb like a fox.
are we sure that fracking is not fouling up the state of pennsylvania's water supply?
is there a 12 step program for denial alone?
these people need help
the state of PA is sueing the NCAA!!!
Lets kick em out of the B1G,so WE can all move on<>
