On the morning before the madness that is national signing day, Urban Meyer spoke to more than 1,500 at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce annual meeting.
"I apologize if I lose my train of thought right now but we're knee deep in some really cool stuff as far as trying to bring some really good players into Ohio State," Meyer said. "What do I really do for a living?...I convince 17 and 18 year olds to go to school here. Right now we're down to the wire. We've had some great news in the last few weeks and this could be a heck of a class."
Until Wednesday, when the faxed letters of intent are received, Meyer cannot talk about specific recruits but one would assume the Buckeye coach was excited about the Monday night commitment of all purpose running back Dontre Wilson out of DeSoto, Texas. Wilson is ranked number 55 on ESPN's list of the top prospects nationally.
If you're a Buckeye fan and you have 15 minutes, you'll enjoy the speech. Meyer touched on a little of everything including a story about Lou Holtz in his underwear...seriously. He also shared a funny story involving Ohio State running backs coach Stan Drayton and the father of a potential future Buckeye

BammBamm is my dog, Riley is my 4 yr old daughter, and THE Ohio state Buckeyes complete the three most sacred loves I cherish
Good find. Thanks!
My pleasure... probably alot of those in the C-bus area maybe heard this live or was aware of it... but for all those who aren't/couldn't...

Nice!! Always like to read and hear stuff when it comes to the Buckeyes!!
SCOTTC.
Thanks for this post. Always enjoy hearing Coach Meyer speak.
Gonna be a great season.. I can feel it.
GO BUCKS!
Time and Change will surely show, how firm thy friendship O-HI-O!
I hope Vonn Bell gets a chance to hear that, might just seal the deal! Thanks for sharing!
this type of speech makes me not care so much about the talent coming in tomorrow, because you know the head coach will push every player to their limit and get the best out of those who stick around. I think I like stories of three star guys (roby, hankins, etc.) who take it upon themselves to become elite players even better than the storyline of osu grabbing a 5-star commit on NSD.
"those are some pretty damn big puerto ricans on our team." HAHAHAHAHA
I dont have any sources so theres my disclaimer or w.e. but i think clark has already silently commited to tOSU and were feeling good about vonn, also the news about taivon is interesting, if clark were to committ it would be an uphill battle for him, so maybe meyer has told players that clark has committed, maybe taivon's schollie is for clark
No truer words have been spoken.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
He really puts it out there in a no nonsense loving way...You can tell he really loves what he does . Thank Goodness he's a Buckeye!
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Urban is one hell of a coach and great leader
I was listening to this on my iphone as I digested the news that we had landed Bell and Clark...I just about broke down......seriously.
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
