I don't think it really matters who is #1. Statistically speaking, there is so little predictive difference between the top 10 classes that coaching and development will certainly determine outcomes. So when people say "We passed Michigan" or "Damn, Alabama is the new #1," it really doesn't make much sense.

While it is great to brag about having the top recruiting class, where we excel is in coaching. Several of us here have been pushing that point; so a school (Texas, USC) can have great recruiting classes on paper (or web sites) but still not perform on the field.

You have to love what all our coaches are saying about developing this class. My only hope is that the staff stays intact for as long as possible, because as a group these guys are not just great recruiters, they are something very special.
