I may be wrong, but it appears to me that Ray Lewis is doing the " I found god " thing to help get elected into the HOF. he was a good fb player but he and God no what really happened that night and I would love to be there when god says "Ray you got some splaining to do ".

Holmes is crazy and has issues, not a fan BUT he didn't have murdered kids blood in his limo and claim his white suit from that murder night just got lost etc. Ray is garbage and your dismissing his skating as a "technicality" is a huge stretch...he was involved in a murder and hides behind God now to get people off his back, just like all the criminals in jail and on death row.

It is not my intent to Christian bash, but to say that let he who is without sin throw the first stone. If you think that any group of people of 50 or more has never done anything that would be considered wrong by the church that they attend, or anything that they feel ashamed about, I have a bridge to sell you. The whole message of the Christian church is one of forgiveness, and I haven't seen a ton of that in this thread.
Not trying to make this about religion, but actually it's forgiveness AFTER you have accepted responsibility for your sins. You don't get the forgiveness part just because some time has gone by and now you talk about God.
Just leave off the religion stuff, dude. You can have whatever view of Ray Lewis you want. Personally I think he's scum, but I have no way of knowing what's in his heart so that night is between him and God.

And I should say...it's fine for people to like the guy as a player, and I agree with many of your points. But there are many unique details about his life situation that make him extremely disliked.

Sure, that is true, but you could say the same for any player or coach out there. Anyone who remembers the case knows damn well that the murder charge was only put out there as a threat to make Lewis a rat. Not because anyone in the D.A.'s office believed that he stabbed anyone. People are charged with a lot of things. District Attorneys are just as slimy as the rapists and murderers that they purport to hate. Downvote all you want, but Lewis was never in any danger of going up a river for murder. Anyone who says he was has no real memory of the case.
You will receive no DVs from me because of your opinion. I love Tiger Woods as much as any athlete, yet I would never step out on my wife the way he did. I guess you and I are in the same boat with how we view professionals.
But I have always hated Ray, although much of that does stem from hating the ravens as a whole. I was too young at the time to remember details of the case, but I think it's a stretch to put the DA office in the same light as a hardened criminal. The politics of law can get ugly, but never as much as a bloody knife.

I appreciate the civil statement, and your opinion, but the lawmakers in this land have just as much blood on their hands as any criminal. Every time you break up a family because someone smoked pot, or the cops shoot a guy who was unarmed, etc.
Why'd he destroy his bloody suit right afterwards? Why'd he pay hush money to his crew and to the victims families? Not the moves of an innocent man if ya ask me. I'm sick of the guy claiming to be a man of God and the media glorifying him for it. I went to catholic school for 13 yrs and I played football for a long time; middle school/high school/college. There are plenty of DECENT men to play the game and not be a scumbag in the process. I know a few of what you call choir boys that could knock you through the fu**in wall brother. Run your mouth all you want, but I suggest you take a look at your character as person if you'd throw the terrible acts of some of these guys under the rug just because they can tackle or throw a football.

I don't care what point you are trying to make about Ray Lewis, but to say that DA's are as slimy as murderers and rapists is flat out ignorant. Murders and rapists are the absolute scum of the earth, and while the DA may be a political position full of all types of dishonestly...in my mind there are two crimes on this earth without parallel: murdering a human being, and violating a woman...in no particular order. To say a DA is on the same level is just ignorant.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
