I had forgotten about this play...

Amazing and considering it happened in A2 to take down the Skunk Bears at home, makes it really amazing.
Love the Kordell Stewart bomb, tipped by Rae Carruth (future murderer), to a catch by Michael Westbrook.
Also love a phenomenal Skunk Bear deflator. Right up there with Webber's "time out" and Jadaveon Clowney beheading V Smith.

what's even better? Dude chucked that ball 72 fuuureakin yards...unreal

I had forgotten this. Love the disbelieving look on the Missagain players faces. I also had forgotten that Rae Carruth was on that Colorado team
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
I had forgotten all about the play as well! Thanks for sharing
Watching that (and the 2003 Fiesta Bowl) reminds us how much we miss Keith Jackson calling games.
Kordell's arm on that throw. Wow
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
Agree, Keith was great. Nice classy calm voice. Had some great lines but never tried to steal the show.
Kordell's throw was a straight-up rocket.
The Michigan response, though, is truly priceless. I think in that age of only minimally invasive ESPN replays, they still didn't know that teams could lose like that. Todd Collins put his helmet back on, fercrhissakes! No OT, Todd, game over.
How about Appy State? That has to rank up there too...
or Toledo? or Ohio U in the tourney? The Lulz never end with scUM!

App St = The Horror. Absolutely nightmarish and will never be lived down.
Stewart to Westbrook = gross. I hate it and will never intentionally watch it again. Michigan went 8-4 that year and finished 3rd in the Big Ten. No real effect on the season.
Toledo = Embarrassing. Michigan went 3-9 that season. First and only time Michigan will [probably] lose to a MAC school, especially at home. May have led to Michigan coaches realizing that a scholarship kicker might not be a bad idea. That season was a dumpster fire to begin with. It was the first lesson in a losing tradition.
MBB loss to OU = stung for one day. Could care less.
Clowney hit = admirable. No butt hurt whatsoever. My butt hurt is from the fact that Hoke elected to try a fake punt on 4th and 3 on Michigan's own 30-35 with the lead, and, despite that, the officials gave Michigan a first down that WASN'T, which allowed for the Clowney hit, which, in turn, changed the momentum of the game. In other words, that hit should've never happened, but I'm not mad about Smith getting blown up.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
